Hey I just bought a r33 gtr 97 100xxxks from the auctions and very happy with it

Upgradding from a 33 gtst couldn't believe how much better it handles :touch:

But one problem at low revs there's some vibration ( between 800-1500 rpm)

Was thinking a engine mount or somthing?

It's not a bad vibration I can feel it on the peddles and steering wheel, takingit to the

Workshopthis week for a service just wanna know before I take the car in

And also what's thebest grade oil for it

Cheers :D

Not much can be said about your vibration mate, you will need to get the car looked at to identify what could be causing it. Based off the info youve given it could be anything.

As for oil, follow manufacturer spec of make your own decision. Generally a 10w40 would be fine, I like to use a thicker oil such as a 20w50. Quality should be your focus, dont skimp out on it.

If you owned a skyline previously you can continue to use the same oils you were using previously (Theres no special requirement for an RB26 over an RB25).

Also, the handling difference between your GTST and your GTR would be based on condition and mods :D Essentially they are the same car, just the GTR is alot heavier. Sorry to break your heart  lol.

Haha ohh k its a vribtation coming into the cabin between 800 and 1500rpm

When I put the clutch in and take off from the lights its not that noticeable but if I'm at stand still and rev it slightly to 1300rpm this vibration comes into the cabin I can feel it through my door trim steering wheel and the accelerator

Hope that's more info

Talked to the local mechanic and he recons it's probly the engine mount

I'm waiting for yavuz from ue engineering to have a looksy :D

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
