Hey ive got a 1996 s2 R33 Gtst

its got a man boost controller.

Apexi Pod filter

3 inch exhaust system with 5 inch tip

HKS Bov

and yeah

its pretty stock

I think its only running stock boost aswell

Basically i find my fuel consumption isnt behaving as well as id like it to be

Looking around on Skylines Australia i see other R33's getting just over 500kms per tank.

Whilst mine only seems to get under 400. around the 380 km mark.

I just want to know why mine isnt doing around 500kms per tank.

And i would like to know what i can do to achieve 500km/tank.

I think my car is running rich but i dont know.

Someone please help me!!!

Thankyou :)

yea i thought mine was running a bit rich too. i've got the 97 model with similar upgrades and it gets about 450kms/tank at max. i dont know if the only way to change the settings is to install a mod ECU or if they can do it on the standard 1. Apparently they can only work on standard ECUs on GTRs and all R34s i think.

Well i just want to be able to not fang my car and it be good on fuel. i never boot it, i never put my foot down. i drive soo cautious and conservative, but i only get a mere just over 400km to a tank. it sucks. there must be a reason why.

Someone please help

def new O2 sensor and plugs. Also make sure your pod filter is separated from the rest of the engine bay. otherwise it will just be sucking hot air from your engine bay and that is one of the easiest ways to hurt your fuel consumption.

otherwise throw a bottle of wynns injector cleaner through it just to cover all bases.

All of those things and mine went from 350 to 450+ overnight.

Oh Joy.

    • I'll bite. I no longer own any euro's, but I thought I'd share two of my favorites I owned. My 500hp B5 S4 and my 800HP E55 AMG. Yes I did attempt to drive the E55 in Canadian winters, that lasted all of a month as it was a death trap.
    • To be fair this is the wife’s car. However, I have been accused of owning more cars than I have pairs of undies. Luckily I change my undies more frequently than the cars.
    • Cheers Lads Looking at changing up a few things maybe go 2.8lt, bigger injectors with more a modern Turbo. Possibly transbrake and convert to E85 with Haltech ECU. Any thoughts on those Mods changes or better ideas? Want to try keep the car Street/Strip While also being weekend drivable still.
