Hi All

Last Wednesday night my series 1 R33 gtst was stolen from my driveway.

It has a few distinctive features including a sunroof, very dark tinting, black racing stripes on each side, TRIAL front bar (very low), black 18" five spoke k speed pro gear rims with chrome lip and a seductive motorsports sticker on the rear window. It also had a k&n air filter and type 2 turbosmart bov.

Unfortuately the alarm and immobiliser had just been removed after some other F$*k's tried to take it in largs bay and I was just in the process of sourcing a new security system. Car wasn't insured either so its a pretty big loss.

If anyone sees the car or similar parts for sale please pm me.

I know it was stupid to have no security but i thought it would be ok parked 2 metres from my house until I got a new system. The rims are pretty distinctive I have never seen them on another car so they are bound to show up somewhere. I don't have huge hopes for getting it back but any info would be great

Thanks for reading

Another one???

Time to get an alarm fitted people! Buy a clublock too if you don't already have one.

Alarm + clublock + hidden kill switch = WIN

SAU-SA club membership gets you 10% off at Ministry of Bass and Autobarn if that helps.

wow... too close to home. mitchell park is still a fairly rough area tho...

ill deff keep a look out for ya man. if you can, please pm me where abouts it was taken from

Kidding? It's where the Sturt cop shop is.

like they care... i live literally 2min drive from there... almost had my last car stolen called em while watching the scum running down the street.

it took them 30min to get here, and told me to go fill in a report in the morning. didnt even bother.

drove out with a couple mates straight after and fond one of em ourselves...

Sorry to hear mate.

If u get time go for a drive down Mcinerney ave, Mitchell pk, if your heading south Sus out the 2 houses just past the deli.

Few members of gang of 49 live there.

After a quick scan of the last 4 pages there are 9 stolen Skyline threads!!!

Also one attempted break in but the alarm stopped them and a handful of stolen gear threads.

Fark!

Geez...I drive past that place all the time and there's always 2-3 of them watching me drive by..now I know why and i literally park my car around the corner when visiting the bro.....not doing that anymore!!

Thanks for the messages guys I have uploaded a picture of the front of the car and I'll see if I can find one that shows the black racing stipes on the side and the black rims.

Like I said I'm not holding my breath but we'll see what happens

Cheers

hey i rekon i saw this car on sat night?? do u have the blue/white lights?? hids or whateva, just was in the truck with the old man at around 7:30pm and at the lights on the intersection of marion rd and alawuna i think it is, if you know where im talking bout? was hooning!!!!

Thanks for keeping an eye out. I only had standard headlights but the car had clear indicators. Where you saw the car is very close to where it was taken from and the cops said someone saw it being driven dangerously in the area so it was probably it I'll keep an eye out thanks again

yea Bruce is a good friend of mine. I'm sure someone in the area cased it out before they took it so it wouldn't surprise me if they still have it around here somewhere, thanks for keeping an eye out

no worrys at all mate

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
