WTF...............................

Nice one Mark................

WTF was that car doing being driven on the fu5king road?

450+ rear wheel kilowatts with a racing bucket that would allow only the skinniest of asses to fit.

If you were in the passengers seat then you would be dead.

I will not say anymore, but I am very dissapointed, why the hell would you post this shit on a public forum and what posessed you to think that as the MCCR president you can set such a bad example?

This whole situation was bad enough to start with and you go and post about it

I never said i was a genius :)

Im an idiot for gettin in the car in te first place, i admit. in retrospect i prolly shouldnt have posted it in such a light hearted way.. but i was thanking **** i wasnt dead, and was just in one of those moods, that and the dfact the doctor gave me sumthing that made me rather trashed.

But, i can ASSURE YOU that i am not dead, i WAS in the passenger seat, and im rather sore..

as for the speed estimates, i honestly have no idea.. i know it was in 3rd gear on the power, and i was hanging onto the door/seat cos it was scaring the crap out of me.. i wasnt looking at the speedo..

when i saw the slide, i looked at the tree and said to myself '**** im the one thats gonna feel this, not the him'.

as for the rest of it, i didnt bring any shitfight here, certain people form tjhis club did, they love to have a dig, and well, the opportunity was there..

im not perfect, i do my fair share of dumb shit, if i had of praned it myself, i sure as hell wouldnt be laughing about it as id have cost myself $30k.

the REASON it was posted and the reason i put the pics up was "holy crap look at that cage and how it stopped me from being killed"

and for the retards saying 'that cage is a horrible design'

i DONT CARE what your theory is, it saved me, a cage that saved my fkn life in my book, i couldnt give a shit was keyboard mechanics say, it worked in THIS situation, and the dudes that installed it, certainly knew what they were doing. its no backyard job.. its made of VERY thick steel, and weighs an absulute tonne.

Lets just leave it at that. i dont expect the people that have issues with me to stick up for me, i dont even expect them to be fair to me. But i dont like shit being slung at me and people jumping to unreasonable conclusions.

Ive never been in an accident where i was driving, in 5 years of being behind the wheel of performance vehicles.

im an advocate of safety equipment, race days and advanced driver courses.

i admit i was a bit ofa dumbarse in the way i posted, but hey i ****ed up with that..

laters.

> b: if a driver is driving eratically and u dont feel safe, why not use the handbrake, its in a > position that the passenger can reach it, better to crash at say 80 k's than lose it at 180 > and still hit tree's at 120.

fair call and seems logical however it wont work at that speed, it has a split pin or some sort of mechanism so it cant be applied at that speed? does that sound correct?

can i just say well done on those huge darkies left on the road

sorry to who ever owned that crazy 33

and well done for giving it heaps.. thats what it was made for (not the hitting the tree part)

if no1 was seriously injured why not laugh it off instead of paying out on whoever was driving?

well we're glad ur still alive mark, but who was the driver responsible? And what of the compansation to the owner?

bcos its fckn irresposnsible. what if there was a family drivin home on the other lane and the r33 slide straight into it killin them. Cmon man use ur brain, its not cool.

agreed 100%

i didnt say hey kids heres sumthing cool to do..

it wasnt a smart thing to do, it could have beena lot worse. but every day one of you in your tail happy mostly illegally modified skylines hops in and boots it off at a set of lights, exceeded the speed limit, drifted a corner, power oversteered, did a demo or anything mildy silly (id reckon im safe to say thats the majority of people here), your doing somehting that potentially could have killed someone.

im only too familiar (i mean hell look how close the tre was to my seat) with irresponsible behaviour almost leading to certain disaster, so you dont need to pick me up on that..

that said, i agree that the manner in which i posted probably wasnt particularly smart, but i wasnt thinking all that well, and lets just say, this time round i was lucky, and its been a hell of a lesson..

the driver will remain nameless, nobody on these or any other internet forums knows them, and it wont really change anything if i told u.

compensation side of things, well thats between them and the owner of the car, nobody elses business really..

fair enough, just wanting to know (and I think I posted on mccr the same question I'm about to ask). Has the person responsible agreed that he will compensate the owner, that's all.

your's sincerely,

shan... huge porno fan :)

yep. its all sorted, well it will be next week..

im getting the intercooler cheap in return for my pain :)

4" thick trust cooler to suit r33 (gtr) with piping kit..

swoit, more bits beni stripped are here...

:slap: I'm glad you are ok Mark, it makes me very angry to realise that you should by all rights be DEAD.

I am familiar with that brand of rollcage and very happy the car in question had one, because that's one less funeral I have to attend.

I will say in your defence that I know you to be an honest person and that It was a shock inspired post that led to this and other forum threads. I wish you a full recovery and hope that your friend who shall remain nameless has learned a lesson or ten. I hope he doesn't try to break his new record of how many trees he can mow down!!

And for all of the guys that said pull the hand brake on, that was never going to happen, Imagine you pull the hand brake on as a passenger.......... you would never be welcome in another car as a passenger again and you would be forever dogged by the nic Hand brake Boy. :slap:

er.. yeah.. whoever said that well has absolutely no idea!! you hit the handbrake at that speed and happen to get a slight angle you'll roll the car easy as that.

Shows the benefits of a proper rollcage though.. Well mark, I don't know who you are - but hey, guess you learned the power of skyline the hard way!

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).
    • Car is on factory injectors/z32 maf/ q45 throttle body/ z32 ecu with nistune
    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
    • yeah I was shocked when I checked my spare OEM on and as below that's how they come from Nissan. (side interesting note new NEO gearbox and replacement park lack the brass bush on the tips and its just all alloy) unsure about damage to the box currently back at 1110 to be pulled down/inspected and selector fork replaced as he built it previously and given the never before seen failure on his billet forks he is replacing it under warranty. He said he has used always OEM the keyway tab without issue for years so it could be an unlucky coincidence. I did talk to him about the sharp corners and stress concentration too. Re: hard shifts i got 7+ years out of the OEM one and the fork itself failed not the keyway. so could be bad luck as I said or an age thing + heat cycles in box and during fabrication of billet?
