hey every1, i know this is a skyline forum but i thought i wud seek for advice here as well for my toyota supra non turbo.

and i really really appreciate it if any1 could help me in any way at all.

afer selling my r32 i got myself a non turbo supra (as im stil on Ps) but i am getting really frustrated and its costing me alot of time and effort getting my wheel bearing fixed all the time.

this is what happened. when i bought the car there was a rear right wheel bearing problem and so i bought the parts and got my dad to install it...

it was fine for the next 6 months then played up again and i was suprised because usually these things last long...

so i thought my dad must not have installed it correctly the first time so i went to my local mechanic and got him to have a look and he cleaned it and greased it or sumthing and it was fine for another month then it played up again..

so i bought another brand new wheel bearing (because i thought when it played up i still drove it and did some damage to bearing as i had to go to work and uni as it was my onli way of commuting). so i got the mechanic to install it but now its playing up again!!! can some please help me......

could it be something like the camber, struts, etc anyting like that affecting it.... PLEASE HELP!....

its a non turbo toyota supra. jza80

much appreicated..

thanks in advance all.

chris

hey thanks for ur reply much appriciated.

well its not that noisey at the moment, just a slight noise... but its the exact same noise as how it started off and i really dnt wanna ruin this wheel bearing (as there not cheap) and buy another one so im not gnna drive it until i can find a solution.

i been researching.... but no luck at all :S

  • 2 weeks later...

i replaced the entire wheel hub and wheel axle just today and so fair its running perfect only thing is its making a grinding noise which i think i over tighten the hand brake so ill fix that tomorrow or whenever i get a chance and update youse all

one more thing.... the new wheel hub i got doesnt have ABS ! :|... and i told the wreckers specifically that i needed abs and he said yes and i forgot to check it when i picked it up.... is there any way around doing this..... without buying another wheel hub... its not that important but annoying having a bright orange abs light infront on me on my dash.. thanks all.

it will probably be affecting your braking performance slightly (it may be thinking that that wheel isn't moving), so it would be a good idea to get an ABS hub. i doubt there is any way around it, but i couldn't say for sure.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
