Having fought in the "blood for oil" war, (exchange instructor US Navy and marines), ethanol is a beautiful thing. Non fossil fuel. Non middle East. E70/E85 good, E100 even better. Restoring a Skyline is Carbon friendly, E85 (from waste largely) even better. Appropriate tuning and fuel systems give more fun too. "80or200" why don't you put your pixsy life of the line in the name of "blood for oil".

Not enough outlets sell the stuff yet.... but in 12 months....

if it becomes common, im hoping my 575's will be enough for a safe street tune

probably will have to rebuild my engine with forged internals and replace a bunch of perishable rubber

appreciate the sentiment, i like less emissions and more horsepower, thing that is concerning is the amount of energy/material required to produce the e85 at the quality we need it

i just want it to get more common, aka at least 1 bowser per petrol station (like LPG had back in the day)

its all you need (as well as a certified 85% ethanol content for cars that dont have ethanol content sensors)

Hey pal I think your being a tosser, if you had read any threads related to E85 on SAU you would realise I'm one of the biggest champion's for the fuel, I love the stuff!

That comment was a dig at the person who started a new thread for a topic that has plenty of open one's and a shit stir to the guys who have already had there car's tuned by me to run E85!!!

regardless I like your passion to the subject.

what sort of fuel ecconomy are you guys running e85 getting?

lowest i've gotten in my GTR on PULP is 14L/100kms

but when pushing it a bit every now and again it'll get up around the 16-18L/100kms

I cant give you a number mate, I dont use mine as a daily, at a guess i'd say add 20-30% and you be close, I guestimated mine is drinking around 6L/min at full boost, just on that point I think most poeple are running out of flow from just one pump, upping the pressure only reduces flow, 1 044 only flows 5L/min at best, then add some hefty rail pressure and it might manage 4L/min, I'm thinking just throwing huge injectors at the problem wont fix the issue's people are having.

Yes I was having a toss!, LOL but am building my car for e85, as a complete package. There are reasons like what is the logic of middle east oil now, for less performance etc etc.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
