Mate best thing you could do is head over to Import Monster (around the corner from Racepace). He has a wide variety of wheels in the size you are after.

Have you decided what model Volks you want?? TE37's, CE28N's, LMGT4's??

i am after the GTC's....love their looks and pretty sure they should be good on tracks...what do you think? not sure what offsets to go for but still reading stuff about them....

Plan is to go tommorrow afternoon down to their workshop and have a chat with them if they can organise me with the coilovers and the rims i am after....

GT-C's are more of a 'bling' wheel rather than a track wheel.

They are not as light as the rims I mentioned above.

But if bling is your thing then go for it, but if it's performance your after then stick to the wheels I metioned.

Cheers

AARRRGHHH!!!! hate this...lol....lot of people told me that too...but i asked chris and in his email this is what he wrote:

"The Volk GTC’s are a good rim and fine on the track because they are a forged 2-piece wheel. 10 or 10.5 doesn’t matter. 10.5 allows you to run a 285 tyre if you ever wanted and will still run a 265 so that is the better option."

To what i understood by reading, i am pretty sure he said they are fine. Thats only why i started persuing these rims. Back to square one. LOL

now have to do more reading to find out what i want...why cant things be easy....hehehe

OK...simple question..whats the best rack rim? what size, width and offset?...all i want is the best for my car...thought GTC were somewhere in that category in looks and performace...

GT-C's are not a fully forged rim so he's telling you porkies. And have quite a bit more unsprung weight compared to the monoblocks.

Best bet are either CE28N or TE37's. I think you should see Aaron from IM about what's best for you. Another top rim is Nismo LMGT4, also made by Rays.

OK!!! so the best rims in the market for track/street use are one of these. And they they are as good as one another? Its just i want to put the best in my car. Wouldnt want to settle to second best unless i am either desperate or i have no option.

I am going to see Aaron from IM tommorrow to talk further. So these three are the best?

All of the three wheels I mentioned in my first post are a forged monoblock design, meaning they are strong and very light. It all depends which one you like and availability. If you choose either of these rims you will not need to change them unless you damage them or get sick of the look.

Be prepared to pay though, being 10.5 wide they are rare and not as accessible as 9.5 inch wide equivalents...

HEHEHE!!! Dont you worry. I am not going cheap on my car. Only the best is going to be on the car. Found one TE37 in 18 by 10.5 with KU36 semi slicks included 265/35/18. only did 2000km on them. Asking for 3600...Is it a good deal? How much am i looking for them brand new?

Mate that is a bargain!

They are worth around $4.3k-$4.5k brand new depending on exchange rate, and that's not including tyres!!!

What colour are the ones you found?

20000kms on those tyres there will be very little tread left on them. So those tyres are worthless. For around 4 grand you can buy brand new set of te37s

There's 1 too many zeros your seeing there Eugene!

they are bronze in colour...not too bad since my car is silver...would have prefered black to give a bit colour contrast i guess...i mailed him...so awaiting reply...

i called places...no names...got quoted 3.8k for normal and 3.6k for super laps with +15 offsets...same size....they are brand new too...if the conditions of the tyres are good then it might be a bargain otherwise itll be wise just to get the new ones for that price....

just unsure about the value and how good the KU36 semi slicks are....need to read on that....

For $3.6k get the super lap version, that's cheap.

Is that stock here in Aus or do you have to place an order??

PM the place you're getting these prices from, I'm interested in some TE37's super laps.

Cheers

If you decide to not buy them, please pass the sellers details to me (via PM obviously!).

Missed few sets already...

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
