what sort of phone do you have? do you have a lot of emails and texts on your phone? i think they get saved to phone memory and not the SD card, so if you have emails with attachments you don't need, delete them. it should only delete them off the phone and not from the email account itself. also may be worth making sure that the camera isn't saving pics to the internal memory (don't think it can, but worth checking).

I have a HTC desire running modaco r8 rom, dont have many texts as i only put this rom on a week ago, i dont think emails matter as i only use the gmail app so i dont think that the emails are downloaded to the phone, pics are saved to the memory card as when i was trying to get this program to work i formatted the memory card and now all of my pics have gone.

it may still download emails to the phone. if you go into application manager in settings, then look at the size of the gmail storage app, that will tell you how much your emails are taking up on the phone (just make sure that you change the filter to "all" instead of "downloaded" if it has that option. if you clear this data it will delete all the emails, so better to do it through the app if it is taking up a fair bit of space. also worth checking the sent items part of your emails in the app if you have sent any emails with attachments, as that can chew up space a bit.

for you to have so little space left either the new rom must have a lot of extra crap in it that you don't need, or there is something taking up a lot of space. may be worth looking to make sure you don't have stuff that doubles up.

also when you are in the apps manager, you can sort the apps by size, so you can have a look at the big ones and see exactly what is taking up the space

Gmail is using 1.25meg, 876kb for the application, 148kb for data and 256kb for cache.

The only big app i have is co pilot live at 22meg, next biggest is 7meg and there are a few upto 4 meg, most are kb size.

yeah mine was pretty much the same.

the internal memory issue seems to be common to the htc desire.

HTC Desire running T-Mod latest Rom

pretty good battery life loses a percent or 2 overnight when sleeping

there are links on the T-Mod site to calibrating the battery and underclocking the CPU when sleeping etc both helped

favourite apps

alarm clock plus -coz i kept turning off the stock alarm clock accidentily

abduction, angry birds ,replica island, solitare - fun stuff

Flashlight -for torch use

bubble -level thingo

arcmedia - play avi etc

besttube - download youtube etc

Convertpad -converts anything to anything ie Hp to kW

Brut mod for google maps -navigation etc

To format an ext partition i booted gparted from a usb stick http://gparted.sourceforge.net/liveusb.php

pretty sure there are directions on the T-Mod site, they used a live cd instead of a live usb though

Dont really remember what my desire came with originally ????

Rooted and custom ROM a few hours after I brought it

All most all the custom ROM's had the flashlight app,

if that helps.

Just downloaded GPSTools that an a few tweaks in the gps.conf file and am getting really fast connection to gps satellite signal now. :ermm:

yeah mine was pretty much the same.

yeah the nexus one comes with 200mb internal! thats such a limitation, i cant understand the reason for it.

slowly all apps are being written to support move to sd, but still not enough of them.

i've got about 50mb free now.

edit: re: my comment earlier on using Ndrive to replace copilot. well i got the updated copilot that runs on 2.2 and it's way better than Ndrive.

A mate fixed mine yesterday, partitioned the SD and added another 512meg to the internal memory.

okokok, can someone please answer me this

people who have the htc desire right, they download the torche app..... IT ALREADY COMES WITH ONE, why download another?

I don't think mine came with one tbh, the one I have now came with custom Rom and is really good so I have no need for any other.

That's good to hear, I deleted ndrive to make some space, won't bother downloading it again.

    • TBH, it sounds like the threads on the bolt are fubar in a specific section. Most likely as you've been working it back and forth it has torn threads out, as you loosen the bolt, this section enters the nut, now you're spinning a round shaft inside the nut, there's no threads here.   Use something similar to a claw on a hammer that will fit either side of the bolt head and try to apply downward force while also undoing it. The idea is to attempt to catch a thread, or just rip the f**ker out. Caution on ripping out, as it could bend/maime/mangle what the captive nut attaches to. If the captive nut is actually okay, you could do the dirty part of cutting the head off the bolt, then cut a slit in the end of the thread that's now exposed and then screw it up and into the area the captive nut is until it falls out the other side. However, this does risk the remainder of the bolt rusting over time and damaging near the captive nut and also making it rust. However, so can cutting pieces of panel work out to access this area if you don't reseal it properly.
    • Well, every piece of information on that part when you track it back to Nitto says it's for a KIT of theirs. It is also designed thicker to be stronger. And they speak about a specific harmonic balancer bolt they supply for the whole setup.
    • Techniques for removing stuck bolts are: hitting the bolt head with a hammer, heating the bolt to red hot then letting it cool and working it back and forth like you are already doing. AFAIK the idea is to try to crush whatever material is stuck between the threads (and heat also melts locktite but that's almost certainly not relevant in this case).
    • Yuh, I think it works with the Nitto gear only. I presume that you're not also using the Nitto gear? Watch the video. Compare the interface between the Nitto gear and washer (on the gear side) vs the stocker and decide if you think the Nitto gear is different from stock there.
    • Liking the new charger, battery all good (I think).   Also like how you can put it in power supply mode too. Will troubleshoot with that sometime soon.
