Jasons pics give a fair idea as to how they look however as mentioned in real life they are so much better!!! So much so that on valentines night i was to busy staring at the dash being lit up that cops had their sirens on following me, i got booked doing 94 km/h in 70 zone, my fault really but i was to busy concentrating lookin at my new dash, I was mesmerised like i was a mosquito flying into one of those elctric zappers! so $150 and 3 points later i still have my nice mesmerising glowy dash :-)

Kyles good point!! Now for me to scrub Troy off my IOU list i will have to meet you guys at the gym this sunday and i will give him a good training session.... $10 says he won't show.. :-) ehehe!!

Ummmm well Ummmm yes...... i'm not normally a bad driver or a hoon as you know, but was in back streets 70 zone on the way to mums in 5th gear and was showing my new lady friend the dials not realising how fast then all of a sudden *Siren* i pulled off the road so my car was 3 quarts off the road and then over the loud speaker 'GET YOUR CAR OFF THE ROAD' I felt like a full on crim!! so yeah in the end 3 points and $150... spewing huh!

I'm just glad i didn't get yellow sticker, i have to learn to try and think of positive things, they popped my bonnet and went over my car, they saw my air filter and got a bit upset but i apologised and said would get permit, they were agrresive to start with but i guess if your nice enough and apologise and be polite then they calm down, there are some police that no matter what you say or do they are mean however these guys were pretty good in the end, it could have been a lot worse than it was so for what i got instead of what i could have had it was ok.

bl on the fine dood...

i dont have many points left :) i lost 6 in 1 weekend... and i only had nine before that...so do the math :D

its crap but thats life....i didnt buy my car to drive like a nanna....but i dont speed anymore...

oi jase, whats the plan this sat? go to evo r? what time etc etc? address? thanks mate... who else it gonna be there...? zanda>?

fane: just waiting on the last 3 sets to arrive .. I've just spoken with the guy, and they *SHOULD* be here this week

I will call him tomorrow and Friday and confirm when they've arrived.

Assuming they do arrive, it is easier for him if we get there earlier, so I was hoping we could get there at 9ish on Saturday ..

I'll post more as soon as I know :D

at this stage the weather this weekend looks like a pearler.

I will probably put mine in when they get here - or on saturday morning....

how long did it take everyone else? if I leave 2 hours is that realistic? never pulled the cluster, but I've pulled the dash surround hundreds of times.

The cluster itself comes out after the dash in about 4 mins. 3 plugs at the back and 4 screws from recollection.

That can them be taken quickly inside from the heat :D

You can get to the dials then sevles in about 2 mins. But the placing of the white bits is... "fiddly" (F**king things)

oh..as a word of advice the speedo dial must be completly removed from the house (3 screws behind it) for the boost gauge white bit to go in)

And the tach/temp/fuel is the hardest.

Have fun!!

    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
    • You think its the AFM? I know its a common issues on R32s. I find it coincidental how this issue raised right after cleaning the fuel system. As everything except the fuel system was fine before. I tried running it with the IACV unplugged but did not notice a difference and still stalled. However, the RPM gauge is not in the cluster right now, so I will need to connect the laptop again and use Nistune to check the RPM. I will check this weekend.
