Actually it weighs 1650kgs as raced, and I can assure you the times are genuine. I ran two 12.5's and two passes in excess of 116mph!:) My brothers Zed ran 13.8 at 106mph with second gear clutches in his auto TOTALLY fried!

I've heard about Geoff Risby's Zed, he imported it with those mods didn't he?

Skyline owners are always sceptical about Zed's cause they've been indoctrinated with the gospel according to HPI/Zoom, who go out of their way to bag Zed's:(

No slicks.....245/45/16 Falken FK451's, which are great on the street, but crap on a drag strip. I didn't get any better than 2.09 60' which is terrible for an auto, with slicks it will do 1.8's easy and will run 12.2 - 12.3:)

Remember, this is a full weight, stock turbo, stock ECU, stock intercoolers, stock auto, street tyred Zed:)

yeah kymbo lets see the 18 sec pass of the sonata

funny enough... i didnt keep any timeslips from it hey.... i never even knew they were "free" to go and collect...

and it wasnt 18sec! :)

what's wrong with a 17??

Geoff told me that traction wasnot an issue where as holding boost off the line was. His terminal has ~181kph.

P.S. I could get my GTR to do less than the mid 12 you speak of for less than $2000, however power will probably be down on what a 12.5 sec Z has.

13.038 @ 168.48kph.

All I have is a full exhaust, Teins (which are probably of questionable benefit on the strip) and an ECU without a speed cut and tuned for 100ron fuel. Ohh and I also run 245' Falken FK451's.

if you don't believe that the TTZ ran 12.5 than once again check out the www.drivelinechatter.com website and talk to people there as like i said before most of them were there and saw it run those times! as for the GTR running 12's that may be so but all the stock gtr's or slightly modded gtr's i have seen race run slower than what u have!

I have no doubt whatsoever that you could, I personally havn't seen any relatively stock GTR's run those times, but then again, I havn't seen any Zed's run 12's either.

If we're gonna have a pissing contest, My Zed ran a 12.86 in Aug 2001 with NOTHING more than a cat-back exhaust, HKS filter and 14psi boost:)

As for timeslips, if you don't believe me...........who cares?

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
