I wish you guys/gals lived closer, cause I'd come round and help

Ok then ;).. we had a play around a couple of hours ago .. riddle me this:

- coil packs swapped for complete other set

- spark plugs seem to be "about 0.8mm" (left feeler guage at home - oops) and were all fairly recently replaced.. NGK BCP6RES which i think come out these days stock at 0.8

- no obvious air leaks, split, or disconnect vacuum pipes

Which in my mind only could leave?

- Timing slightly out (couldn't check)

- not running cooler or aftermarket management which i know is a bit iffy at 10psi (although apparently it does it at stock boost levels too)

- ignition module (doubt it)

... OR ????

Running about 10psi boost, few random misses at around 4000rpm.. but can "push" thru till they start appearing at 5500rpm or so again. Not massive (heard worse) but enough to shit you when going hard.

So Dr Paul - what is your prognosis?

This is Ska's ka (oo that rhymes)... nah.. no SAFC .. no nothing - that is why I think its maybe a bit iffy even trying to wind the boost up on that setup. No real sign of audible pinging though. Actually almost seems to be the opposite... could it could be just running a bit rich, flooding the cylinders??

0.64mm ? interesting... he could try that.

I always used to run BCP6RES w/ 0.8mm on the rb25det and never had miss issues 10degrees or 35degrees.. but i did have a big front mount and SAFC.

well at least i found out my "spare" coilpacks work.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
