You've pretty much answered your own question. It sounds like you've had a look around and seen what they are going for. Depending on km's and condition, $8k sounds about right.

There's lots of threads about buying a non turbo skyline. There's some good points for and against. I'd have a read.

Good luck with your purchase! :ermm:

thanks a ton mate i wasn't to sure if they would be around the same. But there is another problem i face. Finding one a little more local. i dont mind going a bit of a drive away after all i picked up a VL after driving about 3 hours to the place. But they are all classifieds for 17 grand. :S Really anoyying

I saw a Neat Series 2 R34 non turbo going for 17000 on Ebay and another for 16 grand both are dream cars, and a white R34 on carsales going for 15grand its been up for a couple months, its sad no one has bought it, i guess when p platers call insurance they are shocked and back off lol.

this is also a huge factor; gotta work in whether you can afford to keep comprehensively insuring it. amazing the amount of people on here who post about cars being stolen with no insurance.

More years ago than I care to remember insurance in my N/A R33 used to be a total killer! I swear by the time I sold it I could have paid for the car over again with what I'd paid in insurance. I never needed it but am glad I had it and the car was so totally worth it. It's where my whole Skyline obsession began :D

I do imagine since that time insurance hasn't gotten any kinder to the youngens!

Isnt justcar offering something like 400PA for third party fire and theft for p platers, stupid not to take up that offer, but comprehensive is over 1500 for sure, not to bad if paid monthly, but like Kat said, ur easily paying off another car just on full insurance.

Back in 2001/2002 when I had my N/A auto R33 (I can't believe I'm openly admitting to owning that :( ) I paid $2800 a year with Just cars! Didn't do myself any favours that it was my first car and I'd never had insurance before though.

Geez expensive for a N/A, Currently paying 2800 with just car for a R34 GT T and i thought that was pricey. Shannon wont touch me one because first turbo car and 2 no driveway to park in only in the street. which annoyed me because cats scratch my car on the top :'(

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
