hey guys , just wondering if someone either profesional or backyard who rebuild engines , machines them ect would mind me hanging around after hours and on the weekends to try and learn a bit about engine building? really keen to help out and learn about engines ?? if not any ideas who i could aproach?

i just finished building a 308 for a race car your a week too late ,have another 308 thats almost finished as well for my own race car on the stand but im not in a rush just yet to put the heads on that one .

what side of town ru on ?

I'm the same. I've learnt lots by doing heaps of work myself over the years aswell as lots of reading but really wanna learn how to assemble a 26 from the ground up, not really into paying workshops for something I could spend a few hours learning how to do something that I don't even know if they have done it correctly.

Next year I'm actually planning to buy a tig welder and get practicing at welding. Something im keen to try and learn.

I grew up with family into rallying, drag racing, circuit racing ... all in cars and on bikes. So it was a no brainer that I was going to inherit those genes. Rebuilt my first 2 stroke motor at 14, and was servicing the family cars at 16. My first car was my uncle's TC Cortina street/drag car. Did lackey work in workshops from 16-18 then went on to spray painting. Applied to be a RAAF aircraft technician, but an injury at the time stopped me, so settled for working on cars. Had a real head and heart for it back then ... now I just got the head for it. Got fed up with working on cars for a job, so now I just tinker with cars for a hobby as its more enjoyable.

I've done some stupid projects over the years, including a 13B 1600, supercharged SR20DE in a 200B, CA18DET in a 1600, and many other dumb projects that should never have been built (turboed CBR1000 drag bike being one) :) I do all my own work on my cars and bikes, and have done so for more than 20 years. I've even helped out a few SAU members with their cars and shown them a few things to learn along the way too.

I'm all for people learning to DIY. :(

I have a RB25DET out of a S1 here that we can build :( it has a bit of damage but keen to get it up and running and then possibly look into getting a rolling shell :)

      Hey guys Long time lurker, I daily a nm35 stagea 250t rs four and I've had it for almost 2 years (very reliable 👌). Issues or just looking for information ill always find myself here having a read, so thought id join.  3inch stainless intake, pod filter, AM performance turbo dump pipe, 3inch hotdog, 3 and half inch stainless to 3 and half inch AM performance blast pipes. Bc racing coilovers. 18inch rims Hdi intercooler and trans cooler soon.  Here's my car

      thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price

      Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?

      Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
