How did u connect the two tuners? If you made the cable yourself, check the video wiring for short circuit between inner & outer (braid). Also make sure it's plugged into the correct pins on the white connector on OEM tuner. If it was a bought cable, forget all that - it's probably OK.

I'd try it out connected to a standard TV screen. Make sure it's not an outright faulty tuner.

Do you have an actual Asuka or one of the gold ones I used to supply?

asuka HR3, brought cable, only thing not wired up yet is antenna as i gotta get the connector tomorrow, but i wouldnt think antenna would matter, the asuka gets power and turns on, i got it plugged into the standard tuners white plug hole, only goes in one way... from what i belive is that is all thats needed to get video, two powers to the tuner ( and earth) the made wire for 2 sound and 1 video, will pull out the extention lead and test on standard tv tomrrow arvo.

How did you get power to the asuka - did you tap into the +12v for the oem tuner or have you run a separate power wire from somewhere else? (I'm just wondering if you've cut into the power for the oem tuner maybe the oem tuner is no longer getting power)

I don't mean to be insulting with this; but have you turned the asuka on with the remote control? When I hooked up my aftermarket tv tuner (bought off ebay) and powered it up and turned the screen on to tv I just got a black screen - took me about 20 seconds to realise I needed to actually turn the aftermarket tuner on with the remote control.

The only other problem I could think of is an issue with the cable, or a dud unit. Checking with the standard tv would be the next troubleshooting step I guess.

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
