Sorry if this has already been asked before, I searched but was unable to find anything on this issue. I have an R32 GT-R running a Power FC and it will only ever reach 7lbs of boost even though it's set to 20lbs, is this possibly due to a 'limp home' mode or something of the sort? There doesn't appear to be any leaks and I've checked through the hand controller and all the settings appear to be the same as they used to be. The knock sensor is registering higher than previously was but nothing overly worrisome. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What sort of boost controller you're using will be handy to know-( eg. if you have a blitz SBC i-D set to 20 in manual mode it's a percentage, not a psi level) although 7 psi is pretty low?- Have you checked this boost level with a gauge that's know to be accurate?

assuming its a power fc boost control kit? is it still turned on in the etc menu? afaik theres no limp mode in the pfc, its pretty basic.

checked the solenoid works?

It's a Greddy E-01 boost manager, adjusted the solenoid and all it did was mess with the idle. It still caps out at 7psi.

The power fc wont do that, It will cut the engine if you go over your set boost level (with the boost sensor enabled and connected)

What boost controller are you running? have you got it set right?

Greddy E-01, haven't consciously changed any of the settings since it was tuned and I don't leave the remote plugged in to prevent accidental changes.

I have an analogue gauge plugged in which appears to reflect the same boost.

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
