Hey Guys,

There is a cruise on to help out the guys in QLD affected by the floods.

Here is a quote from my mate who is organizing it.

Please join us in helping the poor souls in Queensland by attending our cruise on the 22nd of January! All cars and people welcome! Starting point for Southerners is the DEC at 9:30am for a 10am departure. Then meeting the Northerners at Campbell town @ 11:30am, then down the coast to Swansea for Lunch.

Drivers donation is $10 with a gold coin for every passenger.

Please tell all your friends and help us in raising some money to help our mates in Queensland.

Plus it'll be a pretty amazing drive too.

Regent Street Meats just donated heaps of snags and burgers so looks like a BBQ might be in order!

make sure you RSVP on the facebook page so I know how many people I need to cater for.

~240 Attending

~390 Maybe Attending

This thing has gone nuts recently..

By the way as far as I know I don't know anyone else going on this cruise, so if you see me hanging around my car come over and have a chat :)

I don't think I have any with my clothes on... lets just say I'm a bit like a cross between brad pitt crossed with jack black. That's a general invite to everyone btw, nothing worse than being in a crowd of hundreds of people and not knowing anyone, the best way to pick me out is there's a massive key mark across the front of my white series 1.5 r33, with a decent amount of paint chips on the front too, unfortunately my love of driving gravel roads is not the best for my car :(

For serious, I'm 23, about 6 foot, shortish brown/blonde hair. I like long walks on th... wrong site.

Oh damn... I was hoping for some sort of romantic connection or something :P oh well, a man can dream. I might send some pics of my peni... car.. a bit later on. (There's about being on a forum which automatically makes me take the piss, sorry mate :))

Really looking forward to this event, I think I've talked some mates into it but most are put off by the highway drive at first or simply have prior events.

Would really, really love to be able to do this but wont have my car back from having a new head fitted in time for it :( Sounds like it will be an awesome day and would've been a great oppurtunity to meet some of the other guys on the forum. Hope it all goes well for everyone that does make and there can be a good amount raised for the poor buggers in QLD. Good Luck!

There's a heap of cars going with one person mate, if you can't find anyone/don't know anyone I'll have space somewhere in the car (front may be taken but as yet all 3 rear seats are free). It's all for a good cause and should be fun, the more people the better.

Drop me a PM if you want a lift :)

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
