Considering selling my 32 GTR, I just have not had the time to spend on or in the car and am considering going back to one car...

Heres some details:

Motor

Receipts from previous owner for 2 rebuilds...appears first one died...

Current engine rebuilt by Serge of John French Motors in QLD approx 10000kms on this build.

33 Block and Crank

Forged pistons

Mild head porting

Competition Valve Seats

ARP Head and Main studs + Rod Bolts

Tomei Gasket kit

-7 Turbos

Tomei Cam gears

Apexi PFC with Boost control kit

SX Fuel pressure Reg

Brand new HKS pods and custom piping, all neatly mounted, nice and secure

Ceramic coated split dumps into full system including big metal cat, exhaust is very quiet

Recently fitted Tomei Type B cams (yet to be retuned)

All receipts for engine build available totalling some $10k.

Will also include a set of brand new Siemens 740cc Injectors

Just had engine covers painted candy red and inlet manifold/twin turbo pipe Ceramic coated...$$$

Gearbox/Clutch

Single plate cushion button with Billet Flywheel

C's Short Shifter

Wheels/Tires

18x10 +12F +11R Work GT-Ps in Diamond finish, mint condition, just bought these through Importmonster and was amazed at the condition, no rash

Bridgestone Potenza 265/35/18s

Suspension

Brand new adjustable Selby front swaybar.

Cusco front strut brace

Rear strut brace

Currently sitting on stock shocks/springs for roadworthy inspection, will come with set of Koni Yellow Height/Damper adjustable shocks and Whiteline lowered springs

Original interior is very clean, original steering wheel restitched in black leather with red stitching. Car was resprayed (beside the bonnet) a few years ago so body is nice and straight and no rust.

For those interested -

I bought this car from QLD and it was pretty untidy in general when purchased...ive spent ALOT of time and money already getting it to where it is, genuine badges etc arent cheap! The car is currently out of reg and ive got it to a point where its ready for its inspection, its running stock ECU, stock Suspension, high mount stop light fitted, all the bits required to pass. Im not going to go into too much detail but long story short, Transport SA didnt recognise the QLD Mod Plate used when it was originally Complianced way back when so it requires an inspection here in SA for registration.

I will include everything required to return the car to its previous state, it is not alot of work.

Also have a polished catch can (over the cam cover style) and whiteline front camber kit to go with the car.

Some pics, call if genuinely interested.

With a little work refitting a few parts and a tune it will make low 300rwkw on 18ish psi. Was already making 270rwkw on 14psi before cams were fitted.

Sits a little mexican at stock ride height but should tuck in nicely once lowered....

With front jacked up, gives some idea how rear will sit once lowered...

$23.5k

May also consider swaps for something of interest, tough S15, not sure what else would grab me...EVO, Supra, old school SR Datto?

Hey mate, yes its an '89 and thats cool, can understand that it wont appeal to everyone in its current form but really the only stock parts are the ECU and Springs/Struts.

ECU is a simple swap back to the PFC, refitting the PFC Boost Controller is a piece of piss (2 vac lines) and the Struts are easy as to swap over in these things.

Cheers for your interest.

  • 1 month later...

Shame it's not in the right state, would have a potential buyer if it were in NSW. :(

Could be interested mate, but if I'm honest, having bits of stock parts fitted puts me off..

Is this a 1989 then? - Judging by lack of side indicators?

I was under the impression all Japanese BNR32's came without side indicators? (unless they were put on during compliance)

All R32 GTR's except the AUS spec ones came without side indicators.

It was just a compliance thing that they were put on and some places / states they were not required.

89 Ones didn't require a compliance plate - no indicators.

  • 3 weeks later...

Cheers mate...Now riding on Koni Yellows, fresh 20percent tint just done 2 weeks ago, centre muffler removed...sounds tough, getting a bit of use past few weeks, no issues. As for side indicators, 89s didn't require them, inspector did mention it needed them to pass but then I think he realized what year it was : )

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
