What work has been done to your 34 Clint?

I have been meaning to ask as I am still upgrading mine and trying to work out what I am going to do next / where the line to stop upgrading is.

pending on the model you have, RDA's will set you back a bit more possibly. i paid around 550 for the fronts and 450-500 for the rears for a 34gtt. they were the slotted and dimpled ones though, so the normal ones they have may be had at a good price. RDA are also reluctant in giving out prices, but as smitty said a bloody good rotor, i much perfer these over DBA.

Pads, i use ProjectMu B-Spec, nice pad, used in sprints as well as daily. They've seen about 6 rack days and my car gets used 5-6 days a week and they still have decent meat on them. they get squeaky from time to time, but normally a bit of spirited driving fixes that up. only other pads i've used are bendix ultimates, not to bad for street use, not real flash on the track.

got everything done on the Beetle this morning, and picked up a dog kennel from Palmwoods yesterday.....(interesting drive).

But i havent got to checking my rear brakes. i've never been a fan of any form of Bendix pads. they've always been dusty, noisy, or plain just dont work well. they now have the self bedding pads (not sure how long theyve been around for). ralf got a set for the front of his car. theyre not in yet so dunno how they are.

i might try those Project Mu jobs then, as my car does alot of daily driving.

as for rotors, yeah Bob it sucks if you need to buy em. but the new ones should def last for a while.

the breaks on mine feel fantastic, so i dont think i'll need new rotors any time soon...hopefully

well i found some rda ones on ebay for 460 for front and r

ear slotted. I think that is what i will get. I will just see if i can get them cheaper from work. After 2nd lot of happy laps by brakes are spongy as hell.

This week hasn't been decided yet, we could go either location what do you guys want to do?

I'm not stressed either way but I will be on call.

Let us know castledine or morayfield.

Looks like Castledine it is,

For those that don't know:

We (the northie's) meet at the southbound BP on the Bruce highway in Morayfield at 7pm on Wednesday night and then head down to the Castldine shopping village for pizza capers (corner of Beams and Gympie Roads) we are usually all there and eating by 7:30PM

Has anyone had any experience with RDA Extreme brake pads? The research i have done has been positive. I was thinking about EBC greenstuff but someone said due to my 98% street driving i might glaze the pads as im not using them that hard

Just putting it out there, on the "northside" forum, that im looking desperately for a housemate. I can afford $380 a week rent on my own, but dont expect me at any meets, i'll be the one at home eating 2 minute noodles. Someone can have the master bedroom with ensuite in a furnished 4 bedroom place with huge yard for 190 a week and halves in bills. If you're looking, or know someone who is, please get in touch.

    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
