it could be any of the rubbers under the front, mine for example im pretty sure are the sway bar rubbers.

as for parts, no idea yet either, havent had to co any of this stuff either. but i'd say give bursons etc a ring first. and let us know

are ball joints DIY'able ?? where is best place to aquire them?? bursons/repco or ebay or other??

I am used to regular aussie cars(all my previous cars were ford fairlanes.. ZL(XF shape), NA (EA shape), AU.. where parts are easy as pie to get from the usual sources

all this import part shenanigans is new to me haha

if its suspension bit - fulcrum stafford. PM KRCHER (carl - kiwi with the black R33)

he will probably be able to help.

failing that I can if you can provide a build plate and what you think you need.

An update on my 33, not as good as clint tho :P

Installed FMIC (HDI HYBRID) few months ago

Recently installed digital calibre guage + turbosmart boost tee (clint wired all the vacuum leaks out for me, still yet to clean up)

I have the 3" cat back exhaust, so not im waiting till next week (hopefully) then i will order my front dump pipe and catback, then get it installed either threw people i know or threw a shop.

but due to an unexpected suprise, i will be waiting to get my tune (ill pester the fiance) and try to get it done. then for now, thatd be it for stage 1.

to come, i will be looking at getting a 90m forward intake plenum with a 90m throttle body, then the respray (or which ever comes first!)

sorry i havent been active at the meets, but im keen to start it up again!

G'day All,

First post and just moved to Brissy 3 weeks ago.

I just bought a R32 GTST pick it up on Thursday (Hopefully)

I'm on the north side too in Murrumba Downs. I am curious too since I am new to the area if anyone could point me to a decent place to get an alarm fitted (Not sure if it has one already yet but I want something a little overkill after reading about all the skylines going missing) or I am sure my german shepard would be happy living in it :)

Plus what tuner shop would people recommend up this way?

Cheers

Chris

Hi Christian welcome to Brisbane, Murrumba is a good place to live.

The tuning shop I am using is RPM in Morayfield, Peter Roma does an excellent job on tuning my car and is about to do even more.

What has been done to your 32 already or are you starting with a fresh base?

Alarm you can't go past Chris Rogers in this thread somewhere

+1 Chris is the alarm pro.

It has the basics,

FMIC

Dump pipe & Exhaust

Pod Filter

HD Clutch *Can't remember the spec at the moment*

Then just the typical turbo timer etc...

I am just wondering what should be a couple of the first mods to do to it. First skyline but my brother in law had a R33 with similar mods and a few extras like PowerFC and a few other bits.

Last car was a XR6 Turbo back over in Perth really nice good car but I've always loved Skylines.

Cheers.

Coil pack's then a Nistune unless you want to go with an after market ECU ( Power FC)

holidays..........ill get those soon!!! dammit!

finally broke something on my car recently. not sure when exactly....tryed to squirt the front window...but with no luck.

i assume its just the motor, as the rear one works fine.

what oil you guys running in your cars?? Motul Turbolite is getting real hard to find locally...despite being told they are still stocking it. and ralfs cars oil pressure drop since pouring Penrite into it. seems like all theyre oils are just plain average :(

Just a quick update, picked up the R32 today.

Look forward to meeting a few of the peoples up this way.

Couple of little things I've already spotted is right rear shock is a little shot quite a bit of wheel rub on the guard with a person in the back and passenger seat hardly any with only someone in the passenger and none with just me in it. Other than that it handles very well, was coming onto the Gateway Motorway just driving normally not even had the car for 4 hours and the police zoomed across 2 lanes and screamed up behind me was pretty odd wasn't speeding or doing anything stupid at all.

Only other thing at the moment is under boost if I stomped it it kind of surges and there is a little bit of a pop from the exhaust when I take the foot off can tell its running rather rich it has a petrol smell floating about, obviously needs a tune. So any good advice on tune shop or getting stuff (not too expensive) prior to a tune would be good.

Will actually have a full list of what has been done to it once I've properly done the "just got home" inspection but the turbo back exhaust is HKS as well as the FMIC its a rather straight / tidy R32 needs some work on the paint here and there though and can tell its been nicely looked after.

Just thought I would drop a line and let everyone know :)

Cheers,

Chris

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
