I was on my way home this afternoon on Pacific Highway in North Sydney when the f**king taxi in front of me slammed on his brakes to pick up a passenger in BOTH a No Stopping zone AND a Clearway.

I crashed into him, cracking my radiator, breaking my headlights & smashing my frontbar......NOT HAPPY :) :splat: ;)

What's worse is that all he got were a few scratches on his rear bumper and I can pretty much guarantee that the little prick will try & claim more than that.......

thats not a good day.

no matter what taxi man says make a police report (probably need one for insurance anyway), taxi drivers being taxi drivers will be sweet to your face but try rip you off as much as possible. ive seen them tell people not to make a report then run off to the police and report it as a hit and run to try get an advantage.

what sux the most is legally it will probably be seen as your fault

good luck

Because I hit him from behind it is counted as my fault so I'm not gonna be seing any money from the prick. He can get f**ked if he thinks I'm gonna pay any for his car though......

Nick: My car's at vision with andrew's....... :)

I'm gonna be advertising to sell it as soon as I get it back.......

Time for a 180.

Thanks for the info john......I agree that they are shifty bastards, this one didn't even want to show me his taxi drivers license. (I'm gonna complain to his company)

Though I called the cops today & they said that the rules have changed in NSW so now they only take reports when one of the following occurs:

1. At least one of the cars is towed.

2. Someone is injured. or

3. One of the drivers was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

She told me that the insurance companies handle it from now on......

I'm guessing that I'm probably not gonna hear from this guy...... :fingers crossed:

Cereal I am sorry to hear that. That is terrible news and i feel for you.I not long ago had an accident too in the 180sx. IF you have only 3rd party then you got to chase up the other peopole at fault to lodge in a claim for you with their number. If you have comprehensive then you just lodge in a claim and state that it was their fault and your insurance company will repair it for you and chase up the other party for the dough.

    • This sounds like someone who would have owned an R33 in their past... It's okay, I'm 100% picking up what you're putting down Mark.
    • Just back on what was raised about jacking off the the tow/tie down point on the front of cars. I've used it plenty. I've also watched it on a car where you could see it move the front end of the car. It was like the front end/whole car being tweaked and twisted a bit. I will say, I struggle to find good jacking points on MOST cars. The ones that have good points, I then normally struggle to find a jack tall enough to make the car change height!   One of my go to points for either the jack, or the axel stands though, is either a suspension pickup point, OR a subframe to chassis major bolting point. I actually think its the subframe on my R33 that has a bit of a bend in it, from being jacked in the middle too. However, it could have been one of my many other cars I've had over the years! Or it could also be the from me jacking it up, and the fact the top of the front radiator support isn't there, so it can allow the front of the car to move and bend etc.
    • My apologies. I forgot we were talking about weird beard M series stuff. Had been talking elsewhere with someone about an R33 with similar subject and got confused.
    • Nope, I don't like the look of ND RF, or any ND really, I don't like their faces or arses, why, because of their "modern" lines, the NC, whilst "modernish" has a more rounded shape that I like Well, that's how my overly judgemental eyes see it anyway
    • Should be more than fine, especially the overall fuel pressure would never exceed 3.5bar (assuming that thing never gets more than 0.5bar of boost in stock form). According to the chart, it's 11amps.
