Hi. car is playing up a little bit. Have 2530 and turbosmart rocket launcher dual switch. Just started laggin the other day for no apparaent reason, and wouldn't boost till up in the 4500 -5000rpm. I thought shit, turbos ****ed! But when i switched the boost to high it came on perfectly normal? Boosted hard and pulled all the way? I cant figure out what would happen to have these effects? any ideas anyone?

When you say laggin do you mean floor it thru first and slam second and boost takes longer than usual to build up to the setting you have? If so I have the same problem with the single stage one.

It only does it like sometimes but I would hate to lose a race becuase of it(on the track of course :))

ts wierd, it takes twice as long to build up to half the boost. set at 10 psi on low setting, and at 5000rpm when it should have been at 10psi for 2000 rpm, its just slowly ticking up to 5 psi. But switch the switch and 19 pound at 4k? Dunno whats going on. I know these pneumatic systems are a little unstable and dont hold boost pressure as well as a ebc or external gate, but never had this problem before

imy car is standard as just exhaust and pod and for some reason i get th e same feeling that its lagginf like hell. i step on it then seems like its going no where, when it reaches like 4500 or 5 then u can feel it boot it harder. when i dump it from like 4th into 3rd or second then it feels normal. Anyone have an idea, the turbo isnt gone theres no smoke what so ever. cant really seem to sus out a boost leak anywhere but ive only check the easy visual areas. Putting a front mount on next week maybe that might fix it??

vendetta, i had a somewhat similar experience with mine, seem to be lagging, waiting for an invitation to boost, then it would come on. I popped my bonnet and had a listen and my turbo bearings are on their way out, make a delightful crunching noise when spinning. Noise is definitely turbo as I can hear it when i put a screwdriver to the turbo (put screwdriver on cover then ear on screwdriver to listen). I hope for your sake that the turbo isn't the problem as it is with mine....

Mine's that bad, i can hear it at idle! But other than that, it felt wrong when driving it as i said so i took it home and played with throttle and listened. Then took to turbo shop for second opinion who tells me my turbo is a "time bomb".

I have had this problem on the single stage switchable turbosmart.

Turned out to be the ball valve in the tee piece wasn't allowing the pressure to escape from the actuator and was holding open the waste gate. I removed the ball and spring from the tee and low boost setting worked properly again.

You shouldn't have this problem though as the low boost bleed should be allowing the pressure to get away. I didn't have a low boost adjustment so the pressure just sat there.

May be worth a shot anyway.

i have a 2 stage, turbosmart controller, and i too have this problem, but not in 1st gear, that seems fine, then 2nd and 3rd take forever to hit fullboost, i bought the car with Blitz front mount, and the turbo was apparently hi flowed with steal blades.

    • I don't know for sure, but I'd expect them all to be interchangeable given the diff end and hub end don't move/change between any C34 series. Often Nissan will change part numbers and the aftermarket follows those year ranges; but the original part number change doesn't mean other parts won't fit. The change could be a change in material, internal parts or even just supplier. For example, all the RB gearbox to engine bolts are no longer available and there is a new part number instead. The only change is they went from cadmium plated bolts to zinc plated due to the issues manufacturing with Cadmium. They look different but work the same.
    • One year is a bit concerning. Did you try contacting GSP? It says 5 year warranty on the box if I remember correctly. I'm also running their driveshafts on my S2 Stagea.   You could check the part numbers on Amayama for your year. Here's the link for my 1998 which gives the 39100-23U60 part number. Well, that and 39100-23U70. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/trans/391 What does it say for yours?
    • I ordered a GSP Front R/H Axle from here - https://justjap.com/products/gsp-premium-front-driveshaft-r-h-nissan-r32-r33-r34-skyline-gtr-stagea-4wd#description It lasted around a year before one of the boots blew out. I'm lowered, but I have GKTech roll center adjusters. One year seems a little premature. I think I'm going to spend the extra money on an OEM cv axle this time. This website - https://tfaspeed.com/collections/nissan-stagea-wgnc34-x-four-parts/products/nissan-stagea-awc34-260rs-rb26-right-front-axle-drive-assembly Makes it sound like the readily available OEM CV axle will only fit 11.1999 Stagea and up (mine is a 2.1997 S1). The JustJap listing didn't mention any years or anything for the GSP axle. Amayama shows '11.1999' and up as well for that part number. As well as 'plastic boot type'. See attached picture. So I guess my question is, does that axle (39100-23U60) really only fit S2 Stagea? It's the front driver side. If it does, I'd love to buy that instead of rolling the dice on another GSP. I've found that OEM one cheaper here: https://www.partsfornissans.com/oem-parts/nismo-jdm-r32-r33-r34-skyline-gtr-r32-gts4-right-front-axle-3910023u60 and here https://www.nissanparts.cc/oem-parts/nismo-shaft-ft-drive-3910023u60 Just a little confused because the JapSpeed listing for the GSP front driver axle doesn't mention any specific years or anything and it fit my S1 Stagea fine. So will 39100-23U60 fit my S1 Stagea even though technically it says '11.1999' and up? What would have changed? Thanks.
    • Thanks for the info. The only "Issue" I've had with the shifter is I always found the throw between 4th and 6th gear too close. I'm always worried to shift into 4th accidently and sending my motor to the moon. Adam LZ recently came out with a video and stated Serialnine revised their shifters to correct this and will change all the revised parts for 150$. Strangely enough, I contacted Serialnine right after and they denied it and said it's bullshit. I found that strange as he's a distributer. I'll keep this forum post updated on that saga.
    • Yep that is correct. It allows you to adjust the short throw range from what I can tell
