It's not factory, so you can get picked up for it.

But it'll take an asshole.

Throw in a small switch on your switch board (if you have one) which you can use to turn them on/off as you need. Turn them on for show, and off for general driving.

Ah k yeah makes sense then. Will put a switch on it i think, good call dude. Cheers for advice :)

I think it won't be illegal if you make it work like a brake light.

So it's dim when you have your headlights on but it goes brighter as you brake.

Also, it has to be red.

Yeah that makes sense. where would i be able to find out for sure?

go and talk to the people who you are worried about getting booked by  highway patrol if you can...i dont see what wrong with it if it is working as a functioning brake light..but i dont know about having a blue light next to the red ones on the back of the car, they might not agree with that :glare:

Blue lights on a car are illegal - emergency vehicle colour.

Any red lights can only point rewards - brake light colour.

Any white lights can only point forwards - head light colour.

Pretty sure that law is the same in any state of Australia. There are grey areas but we don't need to go into them for this.

So do it red and you will have no problem what so ever.

F*** lol. i just siliconed the blue led on the car ! gunna be a pain in the ass to get off! but i suppose its worth it! Other alternative is to have blue and red and be able to turn em on and off wen i want. on separate switches tho.

Mine is red and only comes on with the brake lights.

I've had coppers behind me at lights many times. No problems so far.

If I do get pinged,

My argument would be, to remind drivers behind me :it's a Skyline so back off : you're only gonna lose anyway ! :action-smiley-069:

So urs comes on only when u press the pedal or its 2 toned, as in its dim and then goes bright on pedal press?

Haha fkn good arguement! hilarious!

No, not two tone, just comes on with brakes.

Two tone you'll need two sets of leds ?

I wouldn't do it anyway, cops might argue if it's on all the time people may mistake it for a brake light and brake suddenly.

To make it bright for Braking and normal/dim not braking. Wire the tail light and brake light to the LEDs. Put an extra resistor (you'll have to determine how big yourself) and a Diode in series on the tail lighy wire and just a diode on the brake wire.

Aparently u can do it with the method undearneath ur comment :) so i might give it a go n if its too hard il just put a switch on it!

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
