Just generating some interest and seeing what date ppl are free.

Was thinking we could do 1 of 2 things:

Go for a short evening cruise and then go to the Wallis Mainline Drive-in to see ff5

Or, go for a long daytime barossa/ northern hills cruise, stopping at a country bakery for lunch and a lookout for a few photos (got one in mind just can't remember the name of it)

The only prob with the first idea is that wallis only releases its schedule one week at a time so it would be a bit of a gamble if ff5 is on or not ( + atm its on on wednesdays at 10:30  ), I've tried to get in touch with the owner cause I've heard that he's very accommodating to car clubs but so far all I got is a recording of session times

The downside of the second idea would be that it would be a looooong day for you south siders

If enough ppl like the drivein idea I'll see if I can get the session times for the whole month and maybe arrange something with the owner like letting us in early or a group booking price (no harm in trying)

Hopefully I can make it as good as Big Fellas cruise's

Sooo, get to it people let me know what your thinking

Glenn

keen as for either idea, or both on seperate days,

Would mind getting some more killer shots of the stageas together.

plus a south siders can meet up down here and then cruise to meet you northerners out in the ghetto somewhere.

so really we would get 2 cruises in the one day :nyaanyaa:

don't tell you're gonna sell the R34 stagea????

Sadly, Wasnt what i expected when i got the Coversion done, there isnt enough room for a Front mount aswell, gonna cost me even more to rebuild the front end to make one fit.

So leaning towards a 260rs now,

I would be up for a barossa cruise. Your right there are really nice bakeries up there. Please dont have it on the last weekend. I dont want to miss another cruise. Thanks

yeah, the last weekend is the sausa dyno day, so that's my saturday gone, and quite alot of fuel too!!!

Ok so I've been able to find a different number for inquiries at the drive in, I'll be calling him on monday

Till then, some ideas on dates;

Mothers Day is the second week end so we won't do it then

Ducatti I'm pretty sure ya missed the last couple + my missus has her baby shower *edit +the sausa dyno day* so we'll count out the last w/end

So that means that its going to be either the 13th or the 20th (assuming that we are doing it on a friday night)

Just keeping ya posted,

Glenn

P.S. the drive in costs $20 per car per movie

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
