Good point, Clive who are you going to email?

Some of the clubs are hit and miss with emails...but eventually end up in the right place.

Camera is a gopro hd, data comes from a nokia mobile and qstarz gps. But if you don't want the data on the day (you can see split time data, max speed etc etc through the phone) you can get a qstarz logger with no display now. I saw someone use one in the tarmac rally thread.

Easy to use and cost nothing. Phone does not need a sim card. Cut the two videos together with whatever video program you like. Data is bang on natsoft.

So any nokia phone with a bluetooth connected Qstarz GPS receiver and software? you use an E71 from memory right?

here's the standalone gps lap timer:

I hope there's still some places left by the time I get to enter.

e63, cheaper version of the 71. Any S60 mobile (most nokia's from the last 3-4 years will work). http://www.racechrono.com/download/?lang=en

It is only $200 atm.

You can get the Bluetooth receiver for the phone here.

What does just the Qstarz GPS Lap timer give you Richo? Data on a screen using their software? Why the need for a nokia phone? Sorry to hijack thread.

I would love to see splits on a lap timer. I like Ant's AIM lap timer but can't find them cheap online. Any suggestions?

I'm using race chrono on a windows Mobile and it seems to do splits.

just got an old thrashed HTC from work dl the software to it and all up and working free..

So the purpose of the phone is so you can see splits?

well it does a bunch of things

lap times

splits

0-100

quater mile

plus can be plugged into the ODBII to get TPS and such.

then u can download them after the day to compare.

or if u want a stand alone device and happy to pay:

I'm going to ring the guy listed on the sup regs today and see what the go is. As yes their website is not operating today for some reason.

Russ you don't need the phone for splits, as the qstarz software will allow you to create those once you are back at home. The advantage of the phone is that on the day you can view the splits, overall times and start to experiment with different lines and see the effect in different splits.

What i've seen a bit on youtube as well, the guys use a moblie phone holder and suction cup the phone to the windscreen, because as you go around the phone updates the screen in real-time like a game and flashes red for slower sectors and green for faster as you go. I found that a bit too racey though and I was constantly chasing time. So it sits out of site now.

Thanks I'm in, just waiting for their banking details for the bank transfer.

And I'll have to get something like racecrono or Qstarz though wouldn't mind something for the bicycle to track rides/altitude changes as well.

i sent my entry form in twice and asked for payment details but haven't got a reply yet, i just thought they were full. who did you speak to?

You should get a call from Darren Colgan today to give you your number. His phone numbers are on the first page of the entry form. I didn't get anywhere emailing so better to call.

I'm using it on an EeePC along with the ecu datalogger and it works as well as with my old E71 that three reclaimed :-( buggers.

    • Finally have an update on this  Rack came in this week so I did a test fit. You do need the S chassis bushings since the rack is 5mm thinner than the R33 rack. The main issue I foresaw and ran into was one of the hardlines not lining up properly with there it's meant to on the rack. After some gentle coercing and bending very slightly, I managed to get it to fit without any kinks and keeping the hardline pretty much in all of the factory mounting positions. I did have to unbolt all of the soft mounts to move the line around so I could snake it out and bend it safely but it looks good to me for now. I'll update when the rack is fully bolted in and functioning.

    • What are you thinking makes a sequential shit to drive on the street? About the ONLY thing I can think of, is if you're wanting to be able to roll up to lights in third or second and pop it straight into neutral, or you want to come down two or three gears, say out of 5th and back to second, but they shift quick enough it doesn't really matter
