Cooling System Issues

Hey guys, just tossing around ideas of what could be my issue.

Car: R32 GTS-T

Issue: poorly operating heater, bubbling in the overflow bottle after engine shuts off, and a drop in the level of coolant in the radiator.

Thoughts? There is no oil in the coolant or vice versa, so its not a head gasket issue... Ive gotta take it on a road trip (1000km) this weekend so fixing this issue before then would be ideal

At this point too i'll add that im not overheating, just lots of noise when the engine shuts off

Check your rad cap, could be faulty.

Whats you coolant concentration like? Sounds like its boiling.

I wouldnt trust your factory temp gauge either there not exactly acurate.

Start small. Bleed the system, maybe flush it, new radiator cap...

Then start thinking about possibly getting the radiator removed and checked for blockages?

Then.. well you know the rest.. waterpump.. etc etc.

also check the thermostat. that may be part of the issue.

but as gotrice said, start with a bleed. make sure the heater is on and you use the bleed screw. and a new cap sounds like a good idea as well.

Seems I was a bit daft when changing out the coolant last service. Nice air lock, used the bleed screw but didnt use a half coke bottle to raise the water level above said screw (til this morning) hey presto!
