Increased compression, ecu tuning, better breathing intake and exhaust 150kws at the flywheel vs R33 gts which only has 96kws

And just cause the engine size is smaller it doesn't mean it has to be more powerful an gtr R34 has just as much power as a v12 90's Ferrari. If fitted a better exhaust and intake and a boost increase

My 4 cylinder 200sx has 200rwkws with a pod, intercooler, full exhaust and boost increase and my friends r33 with catback and increased boost only has 150rwkws

well... i guess it comes to my final decision. I am sooo confused. I DONT want to stray away from skyline/ Silvias though, sorry :P in terms of future mods, when I am off my p's, if I was to turbo an R33 gts or an S15 autech silvia, which would give me better performance? and a STUPID Q I know, but even though its got less cylinders, will it make a nice grunt with a full exhaust done? or sound like the tinny mosquitoes like all other 4cyl p platers sound like?

It will sound fine with an exhaust, DO NOT turbo a non turbo car it's a waste of money and never works out well

An autech is worth more as a non turbo when your off your P's just sell it and buy a turbo one or a skyline

Power is not everything to ne handling is more important on a street car 150kws at the fly wheel is plenty unless your going to the drags or time attack

I guess im not thinking far enough ahead. keep in mind my dream cars ALWAYS been an r34, so it wouldnt hurt to have an autech, get a good few years, when I can afford an r34 (prefferebly gtr R34), buy that and sell the autech and getta nice bonus because it is an autech, good idea, I didnt really think about the future benefits. I guess I do like the look of silvias a bit, it does sort of resemble a holden monaro. and as I said, when I sat in the S15, it was like an rx7, small inside but the perfect size, makes you feel one with the car. never sat in an R33, but am HOPING that its not so small, compact and one with like a silvia now :P the only issue is that an s15 autech will cost what, 2 or 3 k more then an r33? Anyway, thx for the help, I keep telling myself, I am only young, if a silvia turns out to be the worst thing in the world to ever happen to me, then I got years ahead of me to get something else ahahah.

Try 15000-18000 you can pick up an R33 gts for less than 10000

Don't be so hell bent on a skyline they are not the be all and end all of cars yes they are great but it will be many many years before r34 gtrs are sub $30000 currently $50000-$70000 yes they look great but most 90's JDM cars look great,

also not bursting your bubble but you haven't even driven a skyline turbo/ twin turbo or NA so what makes you think it's gonna be any better than a Silvia or any other car?

I've owned 2x r32 gtst's, r33 gtst, s13 Silvia K's and s14 and driven an s15 and r34 and im very happy with my s14 and was also very happy with my last r32 I suggest you try as many cars as you can before you make a decision based on others opinions and looks

Not bursting my bubble at all, keep i mind, I still consider a silvie to be an 'off brand' of the skyline, like a brother :P and you are completely right. The only Nissan I have driven is my pops pulsar lol. I have no clue what any of them feel like. My plan is to when I am at the level where I can afford any silvia or skyline, to go to a few import shops in concord and pretend like im interested so I can test drive silvias and skylines to see which is best, then just say I will think about it :P

Good idea

Silvias and skylines are different cars

One is a light weight sports car the other is a high power grand tourer

If anything the gts-t is a little brother basically made cause not everyone can afford a gtr

are you going yo listen to me about the type R, dc 2 with full exhaust intake and hondata your looking 130kw at the wheels easy 13 second car, non turbo cars are slow just face it, buy what you think looks good and enjoy it YOUR worrying ABOUT to MUCH for NOTHING

i think your prices and your goals are a bit muddled. 16-18k to spend on buying an N/A Syline? no way. easily get 33's lower than 8 and easily get 34's lower than 12. Autech S15's are pretty expensive (iirc 16-20k but the good thing is they keep their value for resale). N/A skylines are slow boats and any performance modifications other than a pod would be down right retarded for a P Plater. if you were to buy an N/A skyline, just make sure its manual and has a sound system and spend the next 2 years learning how to drive. but to me even that is stupid. my opinion is that P Platers shouldnt be focusing on how cool their car is and how it handles. they should be out on the roads every day racking up driving experience so that they can navigate the road with proper skill and confidence. they shouldnt be f**kin around with rwd cars, rippin skids and trying to drift.i drove a 1.6L fwd Impreza for 4 years, clocking up about 180,000ks. i did some dumb shit in that car as it was, but i certainly learned a lot about driving on the roads. instead of worrying about skids, mods, licence suspensions, driving records(for offences other than speeding) and emptying your wallet as a P Plater, just buy a good cheap car and drive it. buy a beautiful turbo car when you are on your opens and have the points to spare for defects and other offences. /Rant.

maybe there is something better your money could go towards, but if you are like me i see nothing better to spend money on than turbo cars :P.

you should put the money away and save it for a 34 GT-T when you get on your opens. trust me, your first turbo car will probably get written off or something happen to it. so dont save up for your first turbo car to be a 34 GTR, because chances are it may go BYE-BYE. its all trial and error when you start hoppin into cars with power you're not used to.

hope these freezing 6am ramblings have helped.

good luck mate.

man seriously if ya on ya p's and no exp drivin manual or fast cars

i would suggest getting something manual, slow n crap like a lancer ect

because ya only goin to trash it learnin how to drive properly

and power requires skill to many kids/mates have become

Where did you get your figures from? RB25DE Factory figures are 140kw and the neo in the 34's is 147kw

NA 'lines aren't fast but they're still far from the terrible car everyone makes them out to be.

Oh you mean the GTS as in the RB20 models, we can't even get them here(Although there are some)

ok your alowed to have a decent car on your p's to rack up experience, at the end of day its the person behind the pedal that can be an idiot or not, i lost my lisence for 12 months in a bf xr6 so anyone can do its just how long it takes to get to that speed, na skylines are actually one of the fastest na cars i recon, well mine had full exhaust , intake, borred out plenum, full ecu and other lil bits. mabey thats why hehe.. and sold it for 23 g ohh sheit

    • Sounds more like what Brad said, that it's mainly transfer. What pad bed in procedure did you use, and did you replace/machine the rotors, or just swap pads?
    • The stutter is almost entirely in the pedal. I don't feel the brakes release and reapply as you would with ABS engaging but the pedal feels that way, without the brakes releasing. It only lasts for less than a second and the pedal is fine again. It's hard to explain, sorry.  I'll get under this weekend and just double check everything is tight. Fluid is at max where I left it.
    • What bedding in procedure did you use?   When you say stutter, what exactly do you mean? Like it feels like someone letting go of the brakes momentarily and regrabbing them again to get you to stop? Re-reading your post, and that is what it kind of makes me think you're explaining, like theres a little bit of a jolt, likely just as you're reaching a stop. I've only had this issue once. And if its caused by what caused mine, you will want to get the car up on stands again and check it over. Mine was a case of a caliper mounting bolt coming out and letting the caliper rotate on the other remaining bolt and gave play in a wheel as it came to a stop. But not every stop either!
    • Yeop... binned it   This will be a summary will not many pics atm and cbf  Fixed the samsonas - it was totally munched Put a new precision 7675 T4 on with proper split pulse mani Got to Sydney to get to car - drove to canberra to get racecar - drive back to sydney that night Next day all day at Plasmaman putting on new clamps cleaning some things up and adding another large engine oil cooler sitting at the rear above diffuser to keep things cooler Next day - Tuesday - on Dyno - killer wikid awesome pumped out really good numbers - more mid range and on lower boost levels Wednesday - first prac - all day again getting the suspension right - had to borrow front suspension again - out do a lap come in - out do a lap - in - what i had just couldnt handle the load at the more consistent higher speeds - got a lap in at the end of the day that was pretty reasonable  Put it this way that lap wouldve had me in 4th in Pro am for the whole event - with only 700 hp and used tyres Thurs first official prac day - lap out warm up - then entered a hotlap with above setting and 80% effort took corners 1,2,3 and into 4 car felt awesome -  rear came around out of nowhere bang into the wall near front on at whatever 140 kmph Done, over, gone Just one of those how did that happen apparently as all indications show nothing out of the ordinary Got to spend the rest of the time at the event like I hadnt done before - was actually Ok mainly as I had my family and my boy is 9 and got treated like a rockstar Long trip home, lost a trailer wheel in nowhere land, X5 airbag suspension gave up half way across nullabour and rode on bumps stops (its now completely fine) had to do a 19 hr drive day on day 3 as accommodation got screwed up so just had to keep driving till found a town with some Now to reassess - hopefully the motor and other things are OK but yet to be seen too. There is no easy fix there is no i'll just order that part and get it sent - we'll have a talk to people see what can happen and what the go is but at minimum its rebuild from scratch struts forward and alot of time effort and $ should and if I return and if but maybe/ when  I have the cage tied into the front strut towers - if I didnt have that things couldnt been worse you can say its just a front end but if you know what goes into these cars... you'll know what that actually means in reality   Car was very fast. Disappointing we just didnt get to show it Effort doesnt win you races though     Apparently this is motorsport !
    • Thanks, will do that.  Thankfully they still feel great.
