Hi everyone.

I have an 84 R30 skyline(not tokico Master Cylinder) with disc fronts and drum rears. My brake master cylinder has failed and apparently my only option is to sleeve and rebuild it. I was wondering if there is a simple 'bolt in' upgrade?(from searching the R32 MC seems to fit, but I am not sure if it needs any modification to do so). Seeing as I am going to have to spend a couple of hundred to rebuild the cylinder anyway I figure I may as well upgrade if it doesn't require much more effort.

Cheers

Michael

The later model master cylinders are all designed for Disc / Disc, not Disc / Drum like yours and also designed to feed only 2 lines into the ABS unit.

The bigger later model m/c will increase the pedal pressure if you don't increase the wheel cyl sizes as well & possibly get so hard you might have to be Eric Banner (aka Hulk) to make the car stop.

Chris, yes the new is available ex Nissan at a mere $600.00+

I haven't checked the a/mkt parts industry for some years, but last I did they were getting hard to find & some suppliers listed as obsolete then.

$200.00 for re sleeve seems a bit high for me, have you checked around your local brake specialists instead of mechanics as most mechanics sub them out and put on their margin. Try Better Brakes or a similar brake parts supplier.

Cheers, D

Im having to pay 150 for a sleeve. have to do the work (not the work on the unit itself) myself. mechanics simply cant be trusted. dry.gif

shop around for your brake specialists. brand new parts for these? :S if you find one let me know.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
