I like the sound idiots make is it similar to the VL turbo sound at all?

I'd personally like to be able to make the same sound as well (the idiot sound that is) do I need to start threads like this to achieve that goal or is it a case of hitting myself in the head with a lead pipe?

first of all "crack" vl's have a nissan motor, can have potental to break 9's, thats performing well bud. second of all , that idiot sound mr "rev210" sounds way better than you little ssshhhpppppttttt sound from you BOV. i asked a simple question and if u don't know, don't reply mr lead pipe man. ur 2 cents isn't wanted

SMB315,

I totally agree! Nothing better than the sound of slowness, like the hyundai excel with the 4 inch pipe on the back....I love it!

Know a few people with very quick VL turbo's and the few that I've read of running in the 10's and 9's all have a BOV or two because they like to keep the $3-4k turbo/s for a little longer than 1 or 2 runs.

Since you aren't interested in going fast, the roads have just become a safer place, the answer to your question is to remove the BOV and place a blanking plate over the hole on the pipe. It should be very easy since you can use the two bolts that hold the factory BOV on and the BOV itself as a template for cutting the sheet metal you need. You will also need to block off the vacume hose that attaches to the top of the factory BOV that leads to the plenum. That is how to get the sound that you want.

knock yourself out :P

any one with a good vl with common sense and doesnt own a money tree will fit a BOV to stop compressor surge, BECAUSE ITS BAD!!!

How do i get my car to sound like a harley cause they are loud and people are scared of them????

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
