the rb20 will probably drive all around australia twice on the redline the entire way without blowing lol. I think most motorbikes have a longer stroke haha

still, hopefully they are dumb enough to keep driving it and they catch them.

Import_zone on hardtuned wrote in their spotted thread that he had seen a purple 32 yesterday in the hills and has spoken to police. He/she wanted someone on sau to pass on the message. Hope the car is recovered mate!

What id like to know is how come we all seem to not be able to pull out the driveway without being pulled over for a defect, yet these criminals can drive around numerous times using the stolen cars to steal more imports...and not get pulled over?

Am I missing something other than a balaclava, set of screwdrivers and some tool kit to keep in the car that guarantees to not get noticed by the local on duty?

Cant answer that, but I can say from my own experience that I've been pulled over twice in the 4 years of owning my GTR and using it as a daily driver.

On both occasions it was a bretho and licence check, and I was sent on my way without incident.

I suppose upkeep, keeping it stock and not driving like a tool are the 3 things that have helped me, however I do worry like everyone else, especially since my exhaust is loudish...

I can agree with you there dohmar. My silver paint helps but when your car and driving style doesn't scream 'street racer' you don't have much to worry about. I've never been pulled over in a year of GTR ownership and daily driving.

Ive used my car as a daily in the past, and the last time I was defected the cop was pulling out of a side street as I was coming past in the front of a pack of traffic. The cop basically raced, weaved and then stuck his lights on behind others to get to me specifically. Once he looked over my car, even commenting on how clean and standard it was, chose to defect me for less than 5mm too low. I wasnt driving like a moron, nor do I have any large bling on my car. Its as stock as a rock for all intensive purposes, and well kept.

Those are the police I refer to as **** who dont do their jobs.

Cops just rand and said the car has been found with no plates and shit and they have poured power steering fuid or something all through the inside so will have to see how bad it is when I get it back tomorrow!!

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
