Sunday Mega Cruise. Syd To Soldiers Beach/norah Head- Aug14Th

THIS CRUISE WILL BE CRAZYY, CONFIRM ----> YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO COME ---> :banana:... SYD ---> SOLDEIRS BEACH/NORAH HEAD (CENTRAL COAST)- SUNDAY MEGA CRUISE!!!!

Leaving 2weeks, which is hopefully enough time for the idea to Settle for a Mega Cruise to Soldiers Beach/Norah Head which is 15min past The Entrance from Sydney, there are 2 massive carparks and food available nearby at Soldiers Beach.. from there you can cruise down into The Entrance if you wish afterward (HARD FOR PARKING ON WEEKENDS)... i hope your able to join us, this cruise has been posted on afew other forums as well as on facebook- it is a mixed cruise! However, East Coast Cruisin' SYD (the organisers: External Link for E.C.C.S on FaceBook!) have a zero tolerance to hooning & any behaviour which will/would give the modified car scene a bad name! This wont be that long of a drvie, just enjoy the Windy/Scenic Cruise (once off the F3)- more the merrier will provide a better atmosphere!! Here are the details:

DATE: Sunday, 14th Of August

TIME: From 10AM

MEET WHERE: P6D Parking (NO BOOMGATES) @ Olympic Park (Cnr of Australia Ave/Parkview Drive)

OVERFLOW PARKING: $4 in the CarPark out the back of P6D, (Entry is via P6D at the back/through BOOMGATES) or parking may be available opposite P6D in Office Complex Carpark- on Parkview Drive!

TIME WE LEAVE: 11AM

DESTINATION: Soldiers Beach, Norah Head. 10-15mins from The Entrance, on Central Coast!

Northern Beaches/Hornsby,etc. can meet @ Berowa Truck Stop on Pacific Highway & join on the F3 when I call ahead to give notice we are passing by... Meet will be around 11AM there, we will be passing by roughly 11:40-11:50AM!!

Central Coast People meet @ Ourimbah Truck Stop from 12:30PM, we should be going past around 12:50PM-1:00PM (1:15PM the latest, give or take...)

OUR CRUISE ROUTE:

1. Quite simple; Left onto Australia Ave & Merge/Turn Left up the on-ramp onto Lane Cove Rd/Homebush Bay Drive.. after 14km Merge/Turn Left onto Pacific Hwy and turn Right onto the F3 (Signs for Newcastle/Gosford).

2. Merge Left for Pacific Hwy from F3 after the Bridge @ Mooney Mooney (going over the Big River) & turn Left onto Pacific Hwy

3. Follow Pacific Hwy all the way to Calga & Turn Left onto Peates Ridge Rd. (follow Signs for Peats Ridge/Central Mangrove)

4. STAY ON Peats Ridge Rd!!! Follow all the way back around to get back on the F3 @ Somersby; passing George Downs Drive & Wisemans Ferry Rd...

5. Follow F3 PAST Tuggerah/Wyong/F3 Service Station&Maccas

6. Merge Left from F3 (@ the 2nd Exit after the Maccas/Service station, after Sparks Rd.) which will say: MotorwayLink/Pacific Hwy for Budgewoi/Swansea/Charlesto​wn

7. Turn Right onto Scenic Drive @ Dyalson (Sign for Budgewoi), go through 3 roundabouts (go through Budgewoi head toward Noraville/The Entrance)

8. After going through the 4th roundabout, take the 1st Left onto Bungary Rd. (for Soldiers Beach/Norah Head)

9. Turn Right onto Soldiers Point Drive (its the 3rd Street on your right), go straight through 1roundabout which will lead you to: SOLDIERS BEACH!! (Please read "note" Below)

NOTE: At the 2nd Roundabout on Soldiers Point Drive, turn Left for the BIG Carpark, or if already full; fill the other Carpark you see @ the roundabout on your RIGHT!!!... DO NOT, GO TO THE END OF SOLDIERS POINT DRIVE- CARPARK/SURF CLUB UNDER RENO!!!!

Western Sydney Meet Details- to cruise to P6D!!!

DATE: Sunday, August 14th

TIME: From 9:15am

WHERE: M4 East Bound Truck Stop (Across/Next to Maccas) or just park in Oportos Carpark (not usually as packed as Maccas & dont want to piss off management there either. lol)

WE LEAVE: 9:45am SHARP (for P6D, Olympic Park)

No problem champ, the cruise route details are in the main thread- as well as the link to google maps which shows you the cruise route... definately wouldnt be take the F3 all the way up, thats boring hahaha :yucky::teehee:

Weather says scattered, isolated showers... im confident tomorrow will be sweet weather!!!

I also forgot to add, AutoStyle Prestige & Performance are coming along for this cruise and bringing along an exotic car.., i.e Ferrari, Lamborghini or something with 1000HP :wacko: Have no ideda, they are teasing me lol so if you want to see something crazy---> COME ALONG!! :w00t:

2. Berowa Truck Stop (at the Old Toll Gates on Pacific Highway)... From 11AM, Leave at 11:35-11:45AM (when i call ahead, they will be heading onto the F3)!!! ).

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
