So i haven't seen much on this forum about stolen skylines (maybe more specific state sub forums have some listed)

But yeah skyline and silvia theft on the gold coast and Brisbane is insane!

The amount of 32s and 33s that have been stolen is just out of control!

If anyone trolls Boostcruising, you will normally see a thread a fortnight at minimum.

For example last week a white 32 was stolen then a 32 4 door was attempted to be stolen and just yesterday a blue S14 was stolen.

Are there any other states that this is on the rise?

Discuss!

A user on boost is compiling a list of all the stolen vehicles. Will post here when completed.

Insurance,alarms and vigilance people!

Shit is rough up here!

Mostly this news is as you assumed, in State Forums.

Over the past year I've noticed (& I could be wrong) that per capita population...

SA & QLD would head your list

NSW, ACT & VIC follow a bit behind

Many SAU Members take steps (in their own ways) to be vigilant too, as best we can.

You will always get your joyriders that burn them out.

But the majority of these thefts are organised and done for parts.

Another example is a month or so ago a ceffy was broken into but they couldn't start it so they stole the 4 door 32 next to it. then the next night a guy came back to someone in his 33 at a shopping mall pulling apart his dash. the guy jumped into a 32 that sped away while the passenger pointed a gun out the window at the witnesses.

Rumours are (and always have been afaik) that gc cars/parts end up in melb/syd and vice versa to stay under the radar for stolen parts.

yeah theres a few gettin takin in newy i think yoggibears 32 gtr

was the last i heard bout but i think he ended up gettin some stuff back

ya can only do ya best to deter them ie alarms immobilisers n such

but if they really want a car they will get it

take tinklers ferrari for example

theres been 4 in vic this year (that i can think of terry) all sau vic members all gone with out a trace, with many more broken in to.

as far as newy, i've heard of one at lest on here anyway.

In w.a Perth and south have had shitloads stolen in last month my R34 bein one ov and a 33 just up the road was attempted he saw 5 6ft tall males in the house they r very organised and pik the locks walk straight in and grab the keys police say there is a massive chain ov stolen imports and there re-birthing the cats n selling the over east and over seas .... its not that hard to work for your own money

Scum, just scum, get your own cars you jobless losers. People, get those alarms which have SMS to alert you if you're away, trust me people don't give a **** about alarms if they hear them. Insurance is also invaluable but I guess the best way is not to park anywhere dodgy or dark and try to be vigilant. At least make it harder to get.

I've noticed alot more of this sh1t happening of late and made me start thinking about GPS tracking options.

Has anyone got a GPS tracker fitted?

I've seen a bunch of cheap units on eBay that don't have the subscription service fees... made in china so not so sure if they're any good. I think this is about the only hope one would have at finding there car again. That said, you would need to hide it pretty good and have battery backup so they can't disable it too easy.

apparently the best and most effective method is to get an alarm with a sim card, as thieves can use devices to jam gps signals.

cheaper method and the cops can trace mobile signals yeah?

also a 180sx and yellow VP commo separately stolen last night in the brisbane area..

Actually the phone thing sounds good, the cops would be able to if you give them proof of ownership and the car has been stolen. Would be great to see one of these scumbags thrown in the big house.

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
