Anyone know anymore about this?

Heard on the radio that yesterday a 17 year old (on his P's) got caught doing 170km/h on the Tuggeranong parkway.

Lost his licence and got slapped with a $1500 fine !!

They only said that the 17 year old was driving a high horse power car, no mention of it being an import etc which is good !!

An 18-year-old provisional (P-plate) licensed-driver found his lunchtime speeding hijinks in a new V8 sedan expensive in more ways than one today.

Plainclothes detectives on patrol in an unmarked police car on the Tuggeranong Parkway clocked the P-plated driver at speeds of up to 170km/h before intercepting him and pulling him over shortly before 1pm.

Investigating officers said the teen driver, off from college at lunchtime, was issued with a traffic infringement notice which cost him $1515.

"He has also lost his license," said Senior Constable Dennis Apps.

that kind of speed(the first thing) happens all the time in sydney.

i have 2 friends that have been done 172KM in 90 zone

and 155km in 80 zone

and they were on red p`s without p plates on the car and with no manual licence(auto only)

they got a $1700 fine but only lost the p`s for 5 months.....

Ha, so the guy was from Tuggers college? That's pretty funny. I know a guy who tried to speed in his mini in the same area. Got up to 130km/h or so, but he didnt get caught. Quite an achievment for a 1 litre engine :P

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
