Hi all,

I have been trying to find out if any of the Infiniti G37 coupe parts available in the US are in any way compatible to the Nissan Skyline CKV36?

The main difference between the two is obviously the Left and Right and drive of each vehicle, but can a (for example) cat back exhaust for a G37 coupe fit on a V36 coupe? Or are intake filters the same....

I have no idea if the steering rack would interfere with intake or exhaust if using parts designed for a G37, to be fitted to a V36.

Any one else thinking the same?? The prices in the states are pretty damn good!!

Cheers,

Rob

the same car with the differences you mentioned about the steering wheel, i think battery is on opposite side too

the US boys get a few different options with interior trim & whatnot but mechanically one & the same. even have the same nissan/renault stamping on the parts

just be careful if you are looking at exhausts if your car is equipped with 4 wheel active steer, some exhausts they have don't fit due to the unit hanging near the diff

oh & apparently JDM model comes with a whopping extra 3 horsepower stock

So then, if there is no active rear steer, then it should be fine??

I had one company one company - "www.Exoticspeed.ca" - say that they have supplied the UK with systems without issue, but then again you never can tell unless you have actually done this modification with one of their products.

I'm just doing my research at the moment before I buy my V36, its on order and they are currently searching for manaul Type S in either Dark Grey/Pearl White/Silver. In other words I don't know if a Type S CKV36 will have the active rear steer or not.... I think the Type S and SP do come with rear steer.

some exhausts they have use twin cannons rather than a single muffler with dual inlet/outlet & due to this some don't fit because of the 4was unit, just have to do your research on which ones fit

check out myg37.com american forum with a wealth of knowledge if you want to modify

At this stage I am only looking to fit a cat back exhaust system & and an Intake just to help in the beautiful sound the Nissan V6s make .

With my research, however, I am still getting mixed responses as to if it a direct fitmant (Cat Back) exhaust system. I think it will be ok.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
