wrong compressor map dude, that's the compressor map for the GT35 wheel, you have an 82mm GT40 wheel in your GT35 turbo.

also, y are u selling the turbo??

I was just testing you guys ;-)

J/k post updated.

Selling due to $$ problems

Ok I am confused about what compressor wheel is on this. The GT40 82mm wheel has a 50 trim compressor wheel, whereas the 68mm GT35R wheel is 56 trim. Also the rating on the GT40 is 650hp, and the GT35R is 600hp. These spec's pulled off the Garrett catalogue, I know Ray Hall has some other specs listed but he's also got the GT35/40 listed at 60lbs/min for the 56 trim wheel, which is pretty optimistic to get 700hp w/1.06 rear housing.

RS500 Turbine housings can be changed due to a friend who can swap them out for me, it currently has a 1.06 on it.

CLINT32 Sorry, compressor wheel can not be changed.

Doughboy Yes, when originally purchase it was confusing as well. Lots of Info and some of it didnt add up. Like the compressor rating and turbo rating. I chose to trust garrett as well as other people running this turbo and their Hp output.

This is the turbo spec sheet

http://www.gcg.com.au/technical/garrett%20...ng%20turbos.jpg

Part number 714568-0001

Garrett rate this at 700 Hp and anywhere from 60 to 65lbs/min

If you go off lbs/min yes it doesnt look like it will flow enough for 700 hp but if you take into account compressor in/out it certainly does.

Interesting note is that they rate the 0.6, 0.8 and 1.06 all at 60 lbs compressor flow...

Maybe there is a difference between compressor flow and turbo flow?

To give you guys an Idea, I have a mate running one of these on his car. It has a RB30 botton end and RB25DET head- and his car is on song at 2500 Rpm and still yet to run in.

amosite,

thanks for your reply.

btw, are the exhasut housings the genuine garrett items or HKS?

the reason i ask is that the A/Rs u listed are the A/Rs which are available only in HKS housings.

They are Garrett,

It might be

0.63 instead of 0.61

Another case of confusion caused by salesmen insisting on making up their own naming conventions and power levels?! The part number you mention is a GT35R according to the Garrett catalogue. So are all the specs you have provided. There is no such thing as a Garrett GT35/40R officially, unless it is some sort of custom made hybrid. Can you confirm that it is a genuine and un-molestered Garrett GT35R, part number 714568-0001? If so and if you provide some detailed pics, then I'm interested...

The reason why some call it the GT35/40 R is because it uses the GT40 compressor wheel.

Some people call it a GT40?

It is indeed a 714568-0001. Bit of trivia the 0002 and 0003 differences are the exhaust housings.

So does the turbo bolt onto a Gtst exhaust housing with the turbine snout machined to fit? If so I would be interested. Could pick up this weekend for the right price. Pm me

Cheers matt

according to ray hall website, your turbo has a 1.06 housing on the rear and is called a GT35/40, if you can get it with the 714568-0002 with the .83 exhaust housing i would definatley be interested. please contact me, [email protected] or call 0407 506 723

do you still have this turbo?

Update,

There are no 0.8 housings in stock in Oz and it has proved to be a little difficult to get a definitive ETA.

Interested parties in the 0.8 housings I will send you a pm/email with more details as I find them.

Prefernce will be given to interested parties with the housing that is fitted to it, 1.0

    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
    • More so GReddy oil relocation kits, sandwich plates, etc. all use 10AN fittings. And same, I've only used 10AN and my car sees track work (circuit, doing laps, not 10 sec squirt business).
    • street use or race track, what hose size and why? what factors change with the hose size options ?   see most comon is an10. when you see most oem external coolers are closer to an12? does high volume oil pump like nitto need an12 or 10 be just fine
