wow... I think I will vacate this topic.

Just relax a little. Its not like Im saying v8 supercars are slow. Shit they are fast, instant power, sound amazing.

Thanks for that pic zebra. Wicked :). hey fan boys can dream.

No you can proceed to bite my head off mad082.

Its nothing against you personally,

But its rather annoying when the fanboi's get together and with no real knowledge on the subject come on and say their favorite car, whether it is a GTR/EVO/Commodore etc, that it would be faster than some other car if they change a million things.

GTR fanboi's seem to be the worst there is, they still live in 1992 and think the supercars are slow, despite the fact that the Supercars were quicker from 1994, yep, and in their 1st year on running (93) they were only about .5sec slower than the Gp.A R32 GTRs quickest time.

This is true. Don't worry I stated that it would be close. Never said their slow :). I know how quick they are.

It's just a sensitive subject I suppose. All I really want is to see them race, even though they are in a different category, can you just imagine the race? No matter of oh this is going to be 2 sec slower than that, and rah rah, I like my Motorsport and would be great to watch. Just like the lemans races, or the gp

hahah Well good news for you, R35 GT3 set to run the the GT championship in Aus next year, so keep an eye out for the GT races on One HD

See here for other GT news

this. some of them even say "if the GTR was allowed to race in the v8 supercars it would flog them all like it did in the group A days". sorry boys, it wouldn't, because for it to run it would have to be running a 5.0L v8, and only rwd. so like the current V8 supercars, it would just be a generic racecar with a GTR shell (which would have to be cut and shut to make it the right size). the GTR isn't smashing all the other cars out of the water in the JGTCC classes because in those it's not running AWD and is running a v8, like all the other cars.

LOL, yeah those sierra's were the bomb. they also had different regulations due to being in a lower category. for example they had to run skinnier tyres. they could only run a 9" wide tyre, while the GTR could run 11" wide tyres. power output i don't think the sierra was too much lower than the GTR. they were putting out about 650hp. had they been able to run 11" wide tyres i think the GTR probably wouldn't have been as dominant.

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
