Did anyone here go on the Boostcruising Skyline Cruise in January???

Recommended Posts

Hi peeps,

Just wondering if any of you went on the Boostcruising Skyine Cruise back in January?? Just wondering coz I have a little article on page 8 of the latest issue of Qld Street Car and theres a few of my photos on there. A purple 33 GTR if anyone on here owns that... Have a look if you're wandering thru a newsagents!!!

Cheers

Yeah, not a fan of people who put GTR badges on Gtsts.... there is no difference between doing that, and the people who put 'type r' bages/stickers on thier hondas, or 'm3' badges on thier 318is...

a guy at work saw my car and was like yeah i used to have one, he told me it was a gtst but it went as hard as a gtr etc.. etc.. he sent me photos, there was a GTR badge on it and he said 'mate it went as hard as a gtr so its allowed to have that badge' ... next time i saw him he was with a mate and i asked him how the fake gtr was and his mate was like 'so it wasn't even a gtr you said it was' haha

Haha... He's spent a lot of money on that and good on him, but wouldn't it have been cheaper to buy the GTR in the first place?

If he just took the easy way out of just gettin a GTR, it wouldnt be as satisfying as doing up a GTST to have ~ the same amount of balls as a GTR. :/

Lemme get this straight:

Its better to buy a GTST and spend a bucket load of cash "doing it up" to make it look like and put out as much power as a GTR..... Instead of buying a GTR (which looks like and puts out as much power as a GTR).... ?

I must admit I'd prefer the second option. If only for the RB26, twin turbo, AWD.... etc :D Not to mention the price difference between a GTST and a GTR is less than what it would cost to make a GTST look and go like a GTR. Assuming you could launch as hard in 2WD.

be glad that hey at least try to hide it in aus

over here i was reading a car mag whic was compring 2 r34's one gt-t one gtr. sying the differences etc, it was quite apparent that the thing was 'sponsored' by an importing company. they failed to mention why both cars featured had GTR badges on them. it looked reeeeealy stupid, made the mag and importer look like a rice field. even if you didnt know anything about cars you could have put 2 and 2 together.

jap imports are not big here. i've seen as many ferrari's than skylines here.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
