Chris would proberbly know. From what I've seen playing with mine is they are powered so I jumper or something is needed on the non option deck to power it. Also haven't seen back of a non Bose radio so don't know if they got the space for the plug.

also, no, there is no wiring to the sub for the non-bose cars. but there is an amp built into the sub enclosure, so it wouldnt be difficult to work out the power wires and the audio input

no mate i dont, im lacking the mounting screw for the sub to hold it and the spare wheel into the wheel well.

if i did, id have it hooked up already! i THINK it uses a speaker level input from the amps that are usually in the boot of the bose equipped models.

from an aftermarket head unit, i wouldnt imagine it would be too hard to wire up.

for $80 its worth taking the risk! lol

as a FYI. these need at least a 6Vpp balanced signal into them to run properly.

if its still available can you take a measurement from the base to the top of it. I want to see if I can get it in the spare tyre well of my R32.

Hi there, I am in Adelaide & also interested. I have sent you a PM.

you would be better off with the 6x9s that go in the rear shelf of yours..

Would you have any recommendations? While you are at it what about the fronts also? I know that it is subject to personal taste & budget but maybe a rough guide would interest a few people.

    • It's almost certainly a reluctor generating an "AC" waveform. No, ECUs don't generally read those - they're usually set up for PWM square wave 0-5v stuff.
    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
