Hey Guy and Gals,

It has come time for me to part with my beloved BBS LMs

The size is 17x9 +5 in 114.3x5 stud pattern

These wheels started their life as 17x9 +20, but the specs were a little weak for my liking, so i reverse mounted the faces and cleaned up the dish

The reverse mount face gives the wheels 15mm less offset and more dish

These wheels clear R32 GTR V-Spec brakes(not sure if they clear R33 GTR Brembos, but caliper spacing suggests that they should)

There is a bit of gutter rash on a couple of the wheels, but stuff that can be pretty easily repaired

The paint on the centers is pretty good with only a couple of stone chips

These wheels retail for over $1400ea new, so I'm pretty firm on the price of $3k

The reason for sale is the wheel specs no longer suit my needs and i want something more aggressive size wise

Would consider trading for wheels of similar value in more aggressive specs.

Wheels Located in west side of Melbourne, VIC

So what youve done is unmounted faces and mounted then beneath the face mounting flange...???

Did you use new bolts/nuts/washers?

Did you use factory fastening torque specs?

Checked for trueness/balance ok after alteration?

Gutter rash?

1. Yep, there is a spigot on either side of the face, so the barrel is still supported by the face and isn't just held by the bolts

2. BBS LM Bolts are titanium and can be re-used

3. Yes, torqued to the recommended ft.lbs as per BBS instructions using the correct assembly pattern

4. Wheels all spin true on the wheel balancing machine. Never had them balanced without a tire on, but all the barrels and faces were marked before dis-assembly and reassembled in the same exact position but from behind.

5. I'll try and get some pictures in the daylight

Here is some pictures of the gutter rash

This is the one with the worst gutter rash, it is less then half a mm deep

One more wheel has a slight bit of gutter rash but it is less then this one

The other 2 wheels are gutter rash free

And here is a photo showing the hub brake clearance and the double spigot configuration of the face

Considering that the going rate for LMs is around $2.5k

There isn't a whole lot of them going around in 17x9 +20 offset spec and none in the reverse mount face form.

The reverse mount face process is not a simple job, countless hours were spent on this set

I am not going to be giving them away...

If these don't sell, just means I'll have to wait a bit longer till I can get my new set built

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
