This thread is dedicated to you people as much as your cars!

Rationale:-

When you read a feature in a Motor Mag or see a Carsales.com.au Advert, you'll read all about the car and its features.

Only at the end, is there any mention about the people credited to have developed how that car drives, or how it looks.

This thread inverts that!

This thread is about people, as much as the car.

Your Post:-

With Pics, list off who you would dedicate as being instrumental in making your car the weapon or the showpiece it is to-day!

They will of course include people within SAU Club as well as many outside.

And when you are finished, be proud of what your team has achieved - and if you're not a Member of SAU already, join up straight away, because outsiders obviously envy what you've achieved.

Keep your Club strong!!!

My 3rd (Current) R34 GT-R:-

This is not a brag session about my car - it's about the T-H-A-N-K-S I owe to great people who have become my team & my car family.

Thanks go to...

* Kristian Appelt (SAU - Iron Chef) who sourced this lovely car from Japan, even though I didn't know about it being F/S

* Todd O'Donnell (JapLink Motors and SAU Clubhouse landlord) who would offer me this car if circumstances didn't allow him to keep it himself

* Eugene Chan (SAU - JDM Performance) who detailed this car for over 13 hours ie. 2 days and was responsible for my 1st R34 GT-R to win a Best Concours

* Peter (Bodyformaero) Nismo Z-Tune Front Bar

Definitely wub.gif your car Terry - I think a change of profile pic is in order. When was this SAU NSW concourse? Bugger I missed out, I really should get the membership form in pronto!

Great thread idea too Terry, will contribute once I get my car back!

:D ...because in some way we all are appreciative of good motoring.

^ ^ ^ That's exactly the point.

Instead of letting others who stereotypically point the finger at us and say, "You won't be able to get parts for it!" or "You just want bang for your buck!": perhaps they should put themselves in our boots for 5 minutes and think like this...

My mother bought a brand new Mazda 2 Genki 8 weeks ago for $25K (including a few extras). Sure she's elderly, but we here on SAU will think, "Geez, for $25K, I could buy a........!!!!!!!"

Think of yourselves as being...

* prudent and astute

* appreciative of good motoring (echoing ^ ^ ^)

* more learned about the value of the dollar

* keen to get the most out of your car & modify it

* eager to match the car's potential with your perceived driving skills

* able to optimise your driving skills through courses and on the track

* able to enjoy the experience of driving rather than just get from A to B

C'mon! Show me your 'Brains Trust' that you want to THANK !

PS Thanks for your kind words above!

PPS Oh yes, "scarf" you've mentioned my kids. Umm Mark used to own a VL Brock Group A SS Build#.... & Matt currently owns a V-Spec II Nur. > Must be contagious hehe...

Wifie? Well that's another story LOL

Really nice Terry, well done. I guess the only logical replacement for a 34 VS2 would be an N1!

On a side note, regarding your ztune front bar, did Bodyform aero supply the grille for it? You can Pm if you would rather discuss privately.

Cheers

ive owned my car since mid 2000 and id like to say thanks to the parking attendant at crown casino that sent me through a red light after declining my entry to the car park (the entrance is located between a massize intersection so the red light was behind me)sending me head on into a mercedes back in around 2003-2004,id like to also say thanks to the cab driver that had the same thing happen to him while the cops were there, thanks to the police officer for seeing it was the parking attendants fault, thanks to the bank for the issue of a gold rated credit card to be able to fix the car back then, thanks again to the attendant for giving me 8 months of hard labour stripping the car to bare shell, removing the firewall, chasis rails, full respray and all the crap that goes along with it....oh and thanks to all the mates that made themselves scarce during the job :)

Terry very kindly offered me a drive of this down the coast on Friday. Couldn't say no to that! It drives SO well.

What a thoroughly desirable car this is. Those photos don't do it justice at all, it's got so much road presence.

Let's hope he holds onto this one longer than the V spec 2 haha

Thanks again Terry. Very jealous!

    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
