that's all pretty standard circuit training stuff... you'd want to be able to do all that and more if your going to make it through the event!

Yeah, If I was serious, I'd be doing this in addition to my normal training regime.

One guy I know said he'd be wearing floaties (for a laugh) because he can't really swim! Go figure!

How did you go with your run mate? Few more k's and you would have done a marathon. I can bust out maybe 15-18km's at the moment. Thirty is incomprehensible.

What is your target finish time come race day?

There is a suggested training regime. It's pretty challenging.

Lifted from the website:

You can use dumbbells, kettlebells, or anything heavy with a handle for most, if not all, of the exercises below.

heres the vid that goes through all that stuff

I tried this last night. It's monumental and from about the mountain climbers onwards I was absolutely spent.

I'm in mega-pain today but it's an awesome workout and you feel fantastic afterwards.

It made them look like piss weak fat f**ks lol, then I lost my shit when I saw the woman on the ground with the row up bar. I'll have to try this and see how hard it is to do pull ups by that stage.

we do this kind of work out on a Sat morning... much harder than a regular weights session but its only as hard as you make it... if you just cheat the movements (like a lot of what I saw in that vid) it makes the whole thing much easier... the Crossfit peeps are experts at cheating, those pull ups are a crime!

Haha especially the guy using his knees to propel himself up. I don't see the point - it's like you're there trying to get through the work out, rather than trying to use the work out.

quoted for truth

yeah its called kipping... a big swing, throw your knees up and ride the momentum... okay if your arms are completely gassed I guess or for a couple of forced reps at the end of a proper set... but probably better to just move onto something else

  • 4 weeks later...

Dose anyone know exactly how long it is. Its says 20km on there site but ive herd on the radio and a few other people saying its only 16km.

I cracked my ribs again on Monday but thinking ill still try give it a go, but I did struggle with a 5km run today.

Ive got a 1.45 start time on Saturday, wish it was a bit earlier but cant do anything about that.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
