Just saw a 1985 Mustang GT Hatch go for $12k on Mecum Auto Auctions. Was fully restored and race preped. Ive never seen one before, i rikey alot, paint job was fail though.

Being American, its probably junk, can anyone confirm / deny this?

Thins is the one..

hell they didnt sell for that new.. last of the fox bodys (1994) would be my pick with a saleen kit and a paxton blower hanging off it. new ones are too smart for themselves.

the one you linked is not worth anywhere near that price.

Mustangs are the Honda of American v8's there are everywhere here and are cheaply modded probably the most arrogant cock car owners also.. it always mad me smile when i mustang 5.0 guy pulls up next to my 240 and gives me a evil look trys to leave live a bat out of hell and my RB walks him, even my sr20 beat them stock vs stock American cars = junk unless its a Corvette (lsX motors) Camaro SS (mid 90s, also ls1) Trans-am WS6 (late 90s, also ls1) . they are fun for drift with just cooling upgrades and suspenion tho gotta love v8 instant torque.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
