Welcome Anthony,

In the Newcastle Area specifically, as far as i'm aware there are only 4 others r34 gtr's (there could be more hiding away in people's garages)

2 white gtr's (livewire has one of these)

1 bayside blue

& my silver one

A cruise would be good.

^Cheers for the reply.

i think i may have seen your one down beumont st a month or so ago from looking at your display pic? looked very nice!

I believe there is a silver M-spec about aswell...

Just curious and seeing if we can organise a meet/cruise, would be good to see what everyone is using first hand and experiences etc... mine is relatively stock so would be good to get a feeling of what others have done.

If your interested and free there is a cruise this wekend meeting at ausgrid stadium at noon, mostly v35/36 but i will be going if its nice weather. would be good if a few gtrs came along?

Cheers,

Anthony

ahh the other white gtr...Very clean car mate.

Bakes (Che Baker) had the Pearl Black V-Spec but ended up selling it to a Dr in the N Coast > he sold it too I think...

I was devo when i found out bakes had sold it, it was the same time i was looking for one and i would have grabbed it for sure ( i was on a secondment in perth at the time and i didn't know it was for sale :domokun: ).

Is yours an m-spec? i think i waved to you once around newy forshore in my yellow gtr...

My mate said he saw a BB vspec out at the mines in the valley also..

Would love to get some meets together, and maybe a nice group shot of some newy 34Rs...

was thinking of maybe organising a run to/around wollombi, although im not sure how friendly the roads are there?.. other one was going to be the north end of putty road and back.. other than that im not sure of many good roads around newcastle..

There are some nice roads around mate! The Putty run is always an impressive drive, but there are a few nice spots. You can cruise down the coast and get some nice shots similar to your Sig but with the beach behind etc...

You may end up with a 34T stalking you though

Yea fair enough mate.

ha dont get me misunderstood, if i were to organise a cruise/meet mate, it would be open to all cars.. skylines to anything etc..

The OP's aim was to meet other local 34R owners as i was having trouble picking/choosing modifications for my car, and wanted to see some first hand and get there veiw/experience on things etc... but i have pretty much got my plan sorted now, but would love for abit more action in the newy car scene.. maybe im just out of the loop?..

Haha there WILL be a scene soon mate! And hopefully we can have our own SAU NSW Newcastle thing happening for people with simiar interests....

I am sure there are more 34GTR owners around, ive seen a few around in my travels but not sure if they are local or passing through. They are an amazing looking car and always have my attention when i see one ;)

Dunno bout you guys but I'm from newy n drive a white RBS15 and I always see small meetups on my fb there's fortnightly meets at autobahn Warners bay on thursday nights. Me and a couple other usually meetup and go to sugarloaf if we are bored.

ha i remeber when i was 17-18 the huge car meets under stockton bridge... took my starion there a few times haha..

was pretty crazy, and can see why that got shut down though...

very interested for things to pick up though, would be good to build abit of a community here...

Those meets still happen as far as i know...... Those are the sought of meets that i wont be attending due too negative attention......

BUT the Newy car scene will live again, i have plans to get organising stuff as soon as i can actually attend (i.e. have my car back lol)...... Will be good to catch up with you guys!

33 owners just look at u funny when u wave at them. 34 drivers are much more friendly.

Since we're short on 34gtr owners, a general 34 owners cruise maybe more suitable...I remember there was one a few years ago to foster along the lakes way.

Matt, I know how u feel bout the car...mines missing an engine and gearbox atm.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
