Just quick question when someone like me (new to the turbo scene)

Buys a stock gts-t what would be the best way to get more power out of it for around 10K like I know the standard stuff but what is a nice lil unit turbo wise that seems to have a all round quality to it?

other than that it's inter cooler bigger injectors and after market ecu that will give you the gain yeah? And is it worth just getting the internals of the stock turbo upgraded to ball bearing?

Thanks for your time guys hopefully one day I can actually join in a turbo debate and know wtf is being said  lol

ignorence is not bliss lol

Cheers.

i would say with 10k

I/C (possible gtr cooler or hybird)

ECU (wolf3d, powerfc, depending on power lvl u might be able to get a chip ecu or a safcII)

Rebuild would be also a good idea again depending on how high you want to go (r33 with sotck internals made 411rwhp)

HKS GT25 - i would say would be a good turbo not 2 laggy and should give you somewhere around 300+ if u want 400 to 500 then you will be a gt30

mike hope this helps

cheers mike that's what I thought yeah I was just hoping for something average so had the power when I wanted to play. so around the 220/250rwkw maybe?

But that advice is great thanks

Thanks squizz well for 10K if I gave you the car and you brought back a weapon the hell take it lol but wait till I get the money lol oh and the car lmao 2 months  Just doing my home work for now

2 npz arian

If i was in your shoes i would do rebuild, Forget piston, cam, cam gears, strenght rods. Then ecu and gtr cooler (gtr coolers r good for alest 600hp), and if there was money left over a hks gt20 or some sort of turbo rate at about 400hp

Best thing you can do is forget all the advice you just got except the bit about reading the stickies they are where you do your research. The stock R33 turbo is ball bearing. Before you start building it's best to know what you are building on,

ps oh!... and especially don't give your car and $10K to Squizz........give it to me............or maybe just the $10K

1. panel filter with cold air induction ~$200

2. Custom m.s 3" turbo back exhaust ~$1100 fitted

3. Hybrid FMIC with piping ~$1200 fitted

4. Bosch 500hp Pump ~$400

5. Injectors ~$750

6. Electronic Boost Controller - AVCR ~$600

7. New ECU PowerFC with hand controller, Tuned ~$2000

8. New Turbo ~$2500

9. Suspension Mods - King Springs with Bilstein shocks - ~$1500

10. Brake Upgrade - DBA Slotted rotors with good pads ~$1200

That goes a bit over the $10 000 budget to around $11 500. Probably allow for about $12 000 to have an all round, reliable, quick street car. I think 220-230kw atw is achievable.

Depends if you want to do some mods yourself too. Tuning will cost a abit depending on what order you do the mods in or if you do them all at once :headspin:

pointless getting boost controller and power fc, might as well get a wolf3d with built in boost controll

No once again u have given wrong info.

Power fc and boost controller is fair superior to a wolf 3d.

Also u wouldnt waste time building a strong engine with forged internals then chucking on a pissy 400hp turbo.

ARIAN

For $15,000 u can get 300rwkw without having everything maxed out like stock fuel injectors etc.

nice I was only after 220-250 rwkw for a everyday driver that has the poke to get up and dance on the weekend. But 300rwkw is a nice round number.

Cheers to all so far this is good info I know the sticky threads cover most this but I just wanted a quick simple list of engine mods with out sorting through all the non importaint stuff :(

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
