I was driving home today and got hit on a roundabout by a guy not watching what he was doing.

He hit me in the front left totally destroying the front left guard but luckily not doing too much other damage.

Parts I need are LH front guard, LH headlight surround and front bumper. Would also like a bonnet but it's not critical.

Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Ipswich, QLD,

Front bumper, you can get it reconditioned, and recromed, the radiator support looks damaged so to the grille, you have the other parts?

headlight assembly, plastic guard eyebrow, monitor for the headlight??bumper side rubber..

i cant help at the moment but will ask down here.

Thanks guys,

I don't know how you haven't seen me around either Jason, I lived in Silkstone and drove through Dinmore everyday, but I live in Redbank Plains now. I have seen your car around a fair while ago, maybe a year or two.

Yeah Mario I only need the LH guard, but any other parts I could get would make it cheaper and I could always use spares of anything for a rainy day. I looked into getting the bumper repaired and it's pricey, but probably what I'll have to do. The radiator support panel is just bent on the "wing" so shouldn't be to difficult to fix. The headlights are fine, it's just the surround and that strip underneath the grill and headlights that's damaged. The grill appears ok. I have spares of these though but would definitely buy more if they came up.

Oh yes the bumper end rubber is missing too, so one of them would be appreciated.

Socrates from Perth has offered me a guard, thanks mate. Getting one from someone closer would be nice but I'll take what I can get really.

I expect his insurance company will write it off for between $1000 and $1500, so anything I can do to cut the costs will be good.

Parts I need are;

LH guard

Bumper end rubber LH

Chrome trim on front of guard

Parts I'd like are;

Bonnet (not rusted out under chrome trim) very unlikely

Headlights, Surrounds and Grill assembly

Bumper

Any front end parts really

I'm always on the lookout for c210 parts so if you have anything you want to get rid of that's c210 related don't hesitate to contact me.

I wrecked a 210 coupe recently so i will have a look what i have.

I know i cant help with a bonnet or guard though.

you dont happen to have the body shell ?even without the hang on panels, whats the condition of it?

Yeah i do have the shell but its pretty far gone from rust, otherwise i wouldn't of wrecked it.

Trust me you could never restore it.

Thanks ... the one i have is pretty much the same way too...

Cheers

Mario..

Hey Rick, I would definitely be interested in knowing what you've got. I am especially after chrome bits, grills, headlights, trim, glass, bumpers and anything exterior really. Could be interested in other bits too though. Thanks.

Mario helped me out with some parts, thanks Mario, but I would still be interested in more.

I am still in need of a left hand guard for my c210. Any help would be appreciated. I am in QLD but I will pay postage from interstate. I don't mind if it has some rust.

I had one organised but the seller has decided not to sell.

I have all the other parts I need, thank you hcg210.

Oh, I took it to Westside on Turley st today. He seemed optimistic enough that it could possibly be repaired. His estimate was within my expectations too, so looking good so far.

I've had my wheels painted by Westside a while ago and they turned out awesome. Maybe a little pricey but it was a top notch job. I took a set of Rota RB-R 17x9.5's (for my zed) and said 'can I get the centers painted dark charcoal please?' and out he came with folders full of dark charcoal paint chips. I chose a colour that was something like 'HSV Phantom metallic with white pearl' or something pretty close to that name anyway. Whatever it was it's a really nice low metallic dark charcoal, perfect for a set of wheels. Cost $550.

At the time my zed was destined for the street, that has changed now though. It will never see the street now. Otherwise I would have just painted them myself for the track.

Jason, when she's back on the road I'll have to bring my skyline around to meet her sister.

    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
