Apparently my car needs some stuff done for clear roadworthy in order to clear the defect notice...

1. Caster bushes - well I think they're it...the guy thought they were lower control arm bushes then changed his mind later LOL...so where's the best place to get them from? Or did I just miss out Ryan's groupbuy?

2. drive shaft - both left and right - right shaft boot is half gone, left shaft is making lots of noises. He said he'll get them done at a drive shaft shop? what's a reasonable price for this sort of stuff?

3. rear tyres - I had new Ku31's fitted in June 2011...and now he reckons they need to be replaced?! Well, he reckons they are "borderline"...there's a bit of camber wear on them but not THAT bad....hmmm

anyway see pic for the bush in question...

I have one spare set....the guy that wanted em never replied.

So if you need em PM me but they will not be at Ryan's price.......retail + shipping....cannot do mates rates as I don't own them.

oh....unless you want to do a swap of caster arms......then I can do them at the the same price as I change everyone else fitted and you just pay for shipping to and fro!

OK which one do I order if I dont want to fk around with castor?

OK just ordered the 2847K....its the right gear yeah? I don't want to sound like an idiot calling back to cancel the order again lol

If they can get the offset caster version, I'd be getting that one. thumbsup.gif

The difference in the way the car will handle absolutely beggars belief. Say goodbye to understeer in all but the most extreme conditions.

If your rear tyres are above the treadwear markers; they shouldn't be able to query it.

I'm not sure if the old "tread across70% of the tyre"rule still applies; that's how semi slick tyres with untreaded shoulders normally get through.

yeah they are above the treadwear markers...maybe its the camber wear/shoulders they're picking on? I dunno...

too late, got the standard replacement...when I see "adjustable" it = chances to fk things up...LOL

Ah well, hopefully it's not too much of a problem.

Lol, yeah; I know what you mean, they'll still be better than the worn out OEM ones, so that's a win.thumbsup.gif

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
