There were some dudes up at houghton last night drifting in the  middle of the road.. AE86's i think.  I was on the way up to my mums.. they were taking it pretty seriously by what they were doing.... I wonder if it was in preparation for saturday?

Came down my road (range rd nth) the other day too - Blue AE86, plates where NA 1600, driving like he thought he was Shcumacher

I'm sure in the near future a gum tree or another car will remind him that he is not....................

And I wonder why my neighbours and people on our roads think all jap car drivers are doing crazy shit like this all the time

Doesn't give the public a good perception of jap car enthusiasts, and we wonder why everyone is getting pulled over and harrassed by cops

I had a cop waiting at the top of my drive not long ago, I approached him in my car and asked him what he was doing -

"We had a call some people where driving dangerously and one almost hit another car" fair enough I reckon, shit like that on public roads isnt the right thing to do, and if people get caught, bad luck

In the end, its just going to get to the point where there will be so much attention from the cops due to a few people, owning a import will not be worth it

Couldnt of been better said chris, i look at other sa forums and all hey brag about it there sik drifting the previous night at various sa locations. Then ill look a few hours later and see, f**kin cops, i got defected etc....

Its a waay to often senario which seems the real enthusiasts such as some of us get burnt while the others keep ruinin it for us all.

I agree Chris, some people dont have a clue, I see alot more holden and ford drivers doing crazy sh1t on the roads - and not in modded cars either, usually the heaps of crap.

When the imports are all off the road, they will only have local built cars to pick on. People will drive like d1ck heads no matter what cars they are in, its the driver not the car.

I know people that thrash their commodores up through the hills, so its not the unique domain of the import owner. Hell some drunken d1ck in a ford decided to do a reverse gear burnout through an intersection and just about hit Deans car (I was passenger) one night during a cruise.

If your neighbours think its just jap car drivers, then they are unfortuneately stereotyping. Not much anybody can do about that - its human nature somewhat.

So true guys, but its falling on deaf ears. How long have people been doing burnouts and racing on streest for? Since 50's? 60's?

So why has it become a problem associated with "Import" cars and their drivers when we all know stick basically anyperson in ANY car and they still will try do those stupid things.

And this now gets me to the whole consfication of cars that may be introduced, which i know will target import cars.....

And steve, yeh i remember that bogan, and ur sik navigation skillz

Anyone go today?? I liked the grey R32 (no biased opinions here :)) Also thought the white Dr30?? was pretty cool. So was James and Trent though :P

Damn that rally spec commie can go at it:) If they made em like that from the factroy i would sell the line :(

Mark's 33 Is NUTS tho hahaha

Pitty about it kissin the wall tho it is a sweet car.

JMS had some SUPER bad luck, Danny with a failed gearbox and christian not making it.

Have to say as well the D1 Garage Car's gave me an eyegasm when i saw them haha, and the skill they have is nuts!

Yeah Kelly's Gray 32 is nut's he has alot of skill to, and just to top it off.....

Riddle me this.....

Why the hell was that peice of crap ford out there i mean that Commie had skills but i mean please, i'll get my mum out there in the Laser next meet and she will do better haha

    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
