Help With Tv Tuner

Hi Guys,

I bought one of the gold HD DVB-T receivers of Commsman about a year ago and I finally got around to fitting it. It fires up and sends a signal to the display but I can't get it to stop scrolling. I can see the menu for the tuner, but it flashes by so fast I can't do anything. Do I need to adjust the factory display somehow or do i need to reset the tuner?

Any help is appreciated

Cheers.

I set the factory display to the symbol that "Chook" pointed out in his tutorial, so I believe that is in NTSC. It is in black n white as well so maybe I do need to set the tuner. How do you do it when it's scrolling and hard to read the menu settings?

The tuner is set to PAL then. You will have to read the instructions and go step by step and hope it changes when you get to the right menu. Or you can plug it into a TV in side your home and go through the menu till you find the NTSC menu and press it. Then it will make the TV in the home look strange then take it back to your car and plug it in.

Ive been able to go through the menu with the same screen with luck

Thanks for that. I ended up plugging it in to the home tv and that sorted it.

Just a couple of notes for anyone else thinking of doing it. In the tutorial it mentions to look for a blue wire in the loom to use as a trigger for the antenna power relay. Well I found 2 blue wires, one had 0.3V and the other had 12V as soon as the accessory was switched on. Rather than have the antenna amps running constant, i used a remote switch in the console to switch a fused relay that now powers the new tuner as well. I've taken the power from the rear 12V accessory power socket so it'll still switch of with the ignition.

Another thing is 12year old plastic trim is quite brittle so i think a trim removal tool is a good investment if you want your trim to go back properly. And while the trim was off i also noticed what's involved to change the tail light globes . . bugger that!

Does anyone know how to disable the video block while the car is in motion? I found a thread that mentions grounding C1 or Cont 1 in the OEM tuner but they also mention this is for the aux 1 input. As I only had a single set of inputs on the tuner which is aux 2 i don't think this will work for me. I also saw a mention of getting in behind the head unit but i found no other details.

I'm not sure if it is set up with the foot brake either. It only blocked the dislay when i put it in gear whether i had the foot brake on or not.

Cheers

The c1 pin is on the m35. You will either have to buy a little black box from Japan that does that or start cutting and shorting wires behind your screen. Dont get confused that the c34 and m35 are set up different.
