Stephen took me for a drive when I was looking for my GTR and it was a very nice car. Full papers from Japan including purchase documents! Bone stock too mechanically down to exhaust.

Exactly what I was after. Definately not easy to find a completely stock (down to the original exhaust) bayside blue vspec in immaculate condition.

I remember calling him ready to book plane tickets to come grab it - but he already had someone local that was ready to buy and pay a premium.

May be sold by now as this was from memory, almost 6 months ago.

I just some how got lucky a few weeks ago when its sister popped up for sale in Sydney.

What's the bayside nur going for out of curiosity?

Cheers

I got mine locally, unless your getting something from say global auto that is unreal, or you can go to japan and pick a car out for yourself. I wouldnt really import one. Just being able to look at a car locally and get a feel for the owner is the best i found.

Also you can bargain locally better.

I was very happy with my local purchase.

So what went wrong? :P

My advice is to look across Australia dont rush and you will find something eventually , i spent a year to find two great cars!

Be aware of cars in Queensland espescially , make sure ADRs are completed as people get away with just seatbelts , my first GTR was unbelievably registered in Queensland with no intrusion bars , child restraints ETC . Also watch for half cuts + accident repairs

Hi guys,

So it has been a few months now and I am still looking.

I have decided that it is 100% a Bayside blue V-Spec II I want and missed out on a beautiful example in Tasmania recently.

Anyway, it looks like I will now engage an importer and start looking in Japan as I could be waiting quiet a while to find a BB V-Spec II locally.

I will let you all know how I go.

If I can't find a car locally I will go through Aaron at Import Monster to find me one in Japan.

Local Melbourne business for me and have been dealing with him for years.

Hey mate....I went through the same thing before i got mine. I ended up getting a 99 non vspec in bayside blue, which is the colour i wanted. very clean and all original. it took me 6 months to find though. but was much better seeing it in person for myself and taking it for test drive.

There is a Vspec II Nur for sale in melbourne & Gran Turismo autos on spencer st. its very nice. didnt ask what the price was but it looks great.

anyway hope u find what you are looking for.

cheers

Thanks everyone for all the advice over the last few months, it has been much appreciated. The search is over, I have just bought a car.

I have purchased a VS2 from WA, you might have seen it, plates are VSPEC2.

Can't wait to get it over here to Melbourne!

Just read the rest of that thread - let's hope your purchase isn't a HIRISK venture ;)

Should be fine, dealing with Collin ha been all good to date, we have been talking regularly.

Ouch. Some of the things said in that thread are not very nice.

Also hoping it all works out for you mate and hope the issues with the motor in the previous for sale ad are now also 100%.

Nice car, i'm sure you will love it.

Regards.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
