Slight Clunking / Rattling

this just started on my way home from work.. seems to be happening around 2000-2500rpm when im taking off.. any ideas?

Kinda sounds like the pressed steel (cad plated) extension housing shield has a dent in it and it hitting the front of the tailshaft as you let the clutch out and it starts rotating.

Nah. Drop tailshaft out. Encourage shield out with hammer and straighten with whatever tools are handy. Or straighten in place if you can.

But check first for clearance/fouling. No point in dropping tailshaft if it's all good.

Someone advised it could be the spigot bush. Doesn't seem to effect drivability but Im hesitant to drive it just in case something goes BANG

It could be.....but I don't think it sounds like it. The spigot bush should probably make the same noise all the time, or at least all the time that the clutch is either in or out. Your noise seemed to only kick off as the car started to move forward, which tends to suggest tailshaft (which only starts moving at that time). And the metallic scraping/ringing noise I heard sounds lot like what the extension housing guard thingo sounds like when the tailshaft is pinging it on each revolution.

ended up being a broken weld on an exhaust bracket which was rattling against some exhaust shield above the diff.
