Hi

I see a few Go Kart being advertise here and there for anywhere around 1K up to 5K. What's the requirement to own one?

Need license? Registration? CAMS?

What if i buy one so i can fang around the block on a Friday night, run over some Possum, chase people that walk their dogs, make some noise just to get shot at by a grumpy 80 year old man? Is there such a thing as a Local Go Kart track? If there is such, do i need to register myself to compete? What if i don't want to compete and only want to fang one around the track for fun?

Thanks

not sure if srs, but will give you the benefit of doubt

No requirements to own one. Heck, you can just about own whatever you want.

Don't know about all tracks, but I know that some dedicated kart tracks will let you practice pretty much whenever they don't have any club events on.

To race, you need to register with the club (and I imagine get an AKA licence), but that shouldn't be too hard

Driving on the street? Well, if you do I hope you get busted and get seriously f**ked over. Don't give legitimate motorsports enthusiasts a bad name. That's what Skylines / WRX's, V8's are for.

Chill, i'm only kidding about street driving, last time i'd want to do is end up under a 4WD :). These dedicated kart tracks you mentioned, in Vic?

Don't know about Vic, but if you search, I imagine that there should be a few in the Melbourne area (probably up to 2 hours out of the city). Most cities usually have a track or 3 nearby.

Here's a few to try:

Go along to one of the tracks and start talking to them - mostly these people are very friendly and helpful. Just don't mention driving on the road :whistling:

I currently race karts.

There are a hand full of tracks that are not AKA related & you dont need a licence to race or practice. I have no idea where these tracks are in Vic as im in QLD.

If you would like to go to a AKA track you need to be a member of a club (annual fees are around $100) & you need to hold a casual licence if you just wanna go out on practice days or a race licence if you wanna race. You cannot put your kart on a track unless you have a licence. The best place to start is http://www.karting.net.au/?bcsi_scan_F246D99C5E000224=0

There is a track in Somerton that you don't need to be a member for to go and have a drive but it's only small. There's a big track at Beckley Park just outside Geelong but you need to be a member, as well as for the track that's near the West Gate Bridge.

They're the only ones I know of.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
